its whatever, some people were around to witness fedor's run real time and some people just saw all the cool hype videos on youtube after the fact. either way, a lot of people have emotional connections to his career.

me? I love fighting. the hype does not work on me.

fedor is better at one thing, and that is submissions. unfortunately for him, stipe is a much larger man with a D1 wrestling background who would almost certainly control any grappling that happened in the fight. even more unfortunate for fedor, stipe is a much better striker on top of being much larger and longer than anyone fedor ever fought. even if fedor was able to get in on stipe and initiate a clinch or some sort of shot, he would be dominated on the ground in terms of position. but my honest assessment? fedor probably wouldnt even make it to a clinch before being finished. he loses the fight standing and probably never even gets close to stipe.

Fedor beat Cro Cop in the standup. Cro Cop is a much better striker than Stipe fool. Fedor is also faster than Stipe and by a lot. To even suggest that Stipe has better grappling is ludicrous. Fedor has won several gold medals in International Combat Sambo. What has Stipe achieved in the world of grappling? Do yourself a favor and crawl into a corner before you embarrass yourself any more

Prime Stipe vs Prime Fedor

lmao this guy going apeshit that Stipe's getting wrecked in the poll
nah, the very first post i made acknowledged that he would lose the poll. so...... yeah.

and thats because sherdog is full of casual/nostalgic fans. most come from pro wrestling.

spend five minutes analyzing the fight and youll realize fedors chances are slim to none.

im really tired of seeing this comparison. first of all, youre wrong about fighting guys his age. junior is younger than stipe. but i know youll back pedal and talk about the damage he took, which is actually legitimate.

my real gripe with this is that weidman is a terrible striker. he has no boxing. he has no kicks. he has no real striking game at all outside of the usual wrestler who just started training his striking. looping, winging hooks and overhands. mousasi dominated that fool standing up. weidman is nothing, nothing like stipe at all, especially standing up.

In the MMA world, we measure age by time spent fighting and quantity of fights. We also factor in the level of competition faced. I should've specified that but you know that's what I meant.

I'm the biggest Fedor fan... but the game has evolved so much since the Prime Fedor days. I believe there are many HW's now that could beat prime Fedor.

stipe would knock cro cop out at any point in his career.

is alistair a better striker than stipe too? lmao because thats what everyone said before that fight. theyre kickboxers, theyre different, they arent better.

stipe's feet are just as fast, if not faster, and certainly better technically speaking then fedor. that comes from his boxing. fedor isnt on the same planet as a striker like stipe.

fedor was taken down, thrown, submitted and controlled by multiple fighters throughout his career. stipe has never lost a grappling exchange, not once. in fact i think hes been taken down twice, spending less than a minute total in a disadvantaged position over his entire career.

one two spam huh? you missed the multiple four punch combos he through on saturday? how about the 3-2, 3-2 which finished junior?

much better grapplers than stipe? have you ever seen stipe lose a grappling exchange? never. whats the true measure of a good grappler? he controlled a brazilian jiu jitsu expert who seemed content to stay in guard. mark hunt controlled fedor for half of their fight. did you see what stipe did to mark hunt?

fedor would almost certainly never get stipe to the ground and would be controlled there even if he did. by all accounts, stipe is nearly impossible to submit and hes brutal from top. he hasnt lost a single grappling exchange in his entire career. fedor would have no chance to beat him standing.

Yes, Fedor could never get a guy like Stipe to the ground.... it's practically impossible.

Well, except for Joey Beltran, Gabe Gonzaga and Junior Dos Santos.

The HW game really hasn't evolved much at all. He'd still be the most well-rounded HW in the division today.

i might just be nostalgic but prime fedors chin and sambo could take stipe. and i like stipe, i'd like to see him vs cain provided cain and aka can keep him healthy.

lmao @ beltran, was that stipe's what, 4th pro fight?

between gonzaga and junior, he spent about 60 seconds on his back. junior hit him with a slick trip against the cage, plus stipe was gassed.

again, have you ever seen stipe lose a grappling exchange? hell no. he destroyed both beltran and gonzaga in the grappling of those respective fights, and simply failed to get junior down to the ground. thats a big reason why junior was such a bad match up for stipe: stipe couldnt knock him out, had to worry about his boxing and couldnt take him down.

Lmao Werdum is Stipes only opponent with a ground game worth mentioning and that fight never went to the ground. Please stop dude you're killing yourself

now how the hell would he be the most well rounded in the division when stipe is a far advanced striker technically speaking, and has never lost a grappling exchange, despite beating guys that controlled fedor on the ground?

i would say even werdum of today is even more well rounded than fedor was.

Stipe was taken down by Joey Beltran lmao

Just because he hasn't fought any wrestlers doesn't mean they can't take him down lol

lol

The fact that Stipe Miocic is dominating speaks volumes of the current HW division.

Seriously, when you go from this

You know a division has regressed by leaps and bounds.

Fedor would beat him...in the stand-up.

I like Stipe. I've cheered for him in most of his fights, but....lol

not for lack of trying, werdum attempted a takedown and came about a mile short. he had no hope of getting stipe down.

they never go to the ground because stipe prefers to box and no one can take him down. the ones who have succeeded in taking him down couldnt keep him there for more than 30 seconds each. again, hes never lost the grappling aspect of any fight ever.

Fedor is the hw goat as of now and he had an epic run in Pride. But we have to take the fanboy glasses out and realize that Stipe is one mean mf. Fedor got in trouble and got hit a lot in many of his fights. I dont think it would go well for him against Stipe in a cage.

So imo....in a ring it could be a toss up, in a cage Stipe beats him.

Stipe was taken down by Joey Beltran lmao

Just because he hasn't fought any wrestlers doesn't mean they can't take him down lol
yeah dude, that was like his 5th pro fight, first in the ufc and beltran at the time had an iron chin. stipe took him down and controlled him way more in that fight, it was a 30-27. stipe dominated the grappling in that fight.
