Fedor Emilanenko from 2002-2006, was the greatest fighter in any weight class i have ever seen in my 24 years of watching MMA/NHB. Fastest heavyweight with incredulous IQ. People tend to forget that about Fedor, that his best ability was how fast he was compared to other heavyweights, that he could compete at LHW. It was truly an incredible sight, those years mentioned above, i have never seen anything else like it since.

Stipe is sloppy as hell with his defense when he comes in and Fedor is a far better counter sturiker than anyone hes faced, hed get clipped and finished in the 1st i think

In this thread casuals are forgetting that styles make fights, and that both fighters fought totally different competition save for Mark Hunt (Stipe fought a Mark Hunt that knows how to grapple, and had a better performance than Fedor did) and Werdum.

With that being said, I can't call this one. It's a very interesting stylistic matchup, a hard fight for both guys.

This is why Dana White HATES Tim Sylvia. This was during the time White was calling Fedor an overrated bum. And then his former Champ goes over and gets starched by him in like 30 seconds.

Don't forget that the UFCs second best HW requested to be released while on a 3 fight win streak in order to chase after Fedor, then got KTFO when he got there.

the truth is, he has nothing for stipe, even in his prime. cant strike with stipe, cant take him down, cant beat him on the ground even if he gets there.

its an awful match up for fedor and hed likely be finished in the first 5 minutes.
