Social PRIDE events where you live?

It will just be the usual case of strange men skimping about in sexualised, revealing outfits whilst paying extra attention to any passing children.
Lol someone has never been to a pride parade

It must suck to be so filled with anger and hate

We have 3 parks in this town, Freedom Park where this 4 hour event is held doesn't even have a kid play area like the other two have. Being it's "Freedom" Park, it's pretty ironic considering people planning the protesting.

Think about the frame of mind some people have. A gay person will come after kids. It's been ingrained in them. It has been a political wedge forever. I can't imagine having that frame of mind. It's disgusting, and the reason I lash out at the bigots around here. They are fomenting hate, and that gets people hurt.

I understand fear of the unknown, but the hatred towards gay people is vile. And the keep it behind closed doors mob are funny as fuck when they see two men kissing. Gay people don't whine when a man and woman have a kiss on TV.

Fuck those narrow-minded bigots. Let them stew in hatred. Gay people have been fighting for rights as long as I have lived. During family vacations in my youth there was a gay man that came (giggity) along. He brought men from time to time, but I never was subjected to anything sexual. We keep in touch to this day. The fact that the first thought is gay sex when they think about a gay person is very telling.

Have you seen any violence or backlash? Just let it play out with no regard?

I'm selling some wares at my local small town PRIDE event at the end of the month and people are already planning a protest even though it's in a general not kid park, and not parading the streets.

I'm not LGBTQ myself but a lot of what I'm selling is. Should I worry? Husband's going to be with me so physically I'm okay, my main worry is my mouth if someone says something hateful.
Writing it in all caps in a MMA forum brings up memories of legendary fights in Japan.

Husband was an altar boy at a Catholic all boys school and thankfully nothing happened untoward, he had a perfect upbringing. But I'd trust my gay friends to look after children more than statistically what goes on in church with trusted adults.

/Disclaimer. I used to be religious so I don't dislike people who are. But some sure as fuck aren't love thy neighbour when it comes to basic human rights.

Meaning a mob of gay people will try to kill an armed 17 year old who is left with no choice but to defend himself?
It's like you've just now expressed how fucking retarded the Rittenhouse defense is. Congrats.

Crickets from them, lol. It's not really fair to paint with that broad brush, though. The problem with religion is that it puts adults in position of absolute power over kids.

My biggest worry is the heat! I have to leg it to and from the car even now and I've bought a gazebo for shade but I can barely breathe here heat wise haha. 4 hours of that's going to be interesting.

There was a Pride march in Edinburgh last week. No trouble at all.

Interestingly, two of my friends are lesbians married to each other. Neither of them attend Pride events because they find it a bit, "cringy".

I was the best man at my cousin’s gay wedding s few years ago. I can really fire him up by mentioning the parade.

Shame.. I offered him to use my truck to drive the float and he told me to fuck off. What a homophobe
