We have a Chang.org petition that we are trying to get signed. We sent it to Tom Perez and the DNC. The dnc gets to make the rules. I hope they get their act together this time.

Edit... when I say “we” I mean the grass roots organization. We don’t work for the campaign. We are volunteering our time. There’s quite A diverse group of us. Every walk of life and voting demographic. Libertarians, entrepreneurs, “socialists” (am I allowed to say that word in here;-))

I found out about Yang when he tweeted support for Leslie Smith’s effort to create a fighter’s union. Project Spearhead, Leslie’s people; haven’t given up yet.

I have been worried about the AI job apocalypse for about 4 years. I read a few books on the subject. When Yang started talking about the tech takeover, he just seemed knowledgeable and sincere. To be sure, there will be some Democrats who are not happy with his elimination of both welfare and federal minimum wage increases.

I hope you guys watch Joe Rogan this Tuesday. Have an open mind. These are the innovative solutions I was looking for.

I've actually been low key impressed with campaign so far and I generally hate venture capitalist campaigns. But his message is strong, it isn't pandering, and I actually rather like his presentation.

Yang’s version of ubi replaces current welfare programs. Recipients would get a choice to keep current benefits or take the 1k per month.
His original plan was for citizens 18-64. He needs the over 64 voting block. So, he modified it. He lost a few libertarians on that move, but oh well. He needs to increase his chances for victory. We can worry about the sociAl security debacle later.
As far as health care, he looks at our overall expenditures on health care. As a country, we pay more for a sucky system compared to other first world countries. It would be fiscally responsible to fundamentally change the system.

Uncle Milty, Thomas Paine, Richard Nixon all talked about it. a version of ubi passed in the House of Representatives in the 70’s. No socialist country ever offered its citizens a ubi.
