President Trump calls to Congratulate Roseanne Barr

While the Conner family was talking politics on the premiere of the Roseanne revival, President Donald Trump was impressed by the reboot’s stellar ratings — and reached out to the comedian to tell her so.

After Tuesday’s episode pulled in an impressive 18.2 million viewers, even more than the original show’s finale 21 years ago, the former Apprentice star — who is known to closely track a TV show’s performance — dialed up Roseanne Barr to tell her congratulations.

“It was pretty exciting, I’ll tell you that much,” the 65-year-old actress said during a call to Good Morning America on Thursday. “They said, ‘Hold please for the President of the United States of America’ and that was about the most exciting thing ever, and it was very sweet of him to congratulate us.”

Yup these Hollyweird celebrities need STFU about politics and just entertain us. I wonder how long before she is a regular fixture on Fox News <45><45><45>

I kinda enjoyed the new Roseanne show. It is basically an accurate reflection of who Roseanne has always been. I used to watch it when I was a kid, I'm glad it is back on air.


By the way, some Right Wing groups are already boycotting the show and Ben Shapiro is freaking out over it too. Lol. "One Million Moms" is boycotting because the show has a young kid who may be gender fluid so they are "promoting mental disorder", and Ben Shapiro seems to think that Roseanne's show is a horrible depiction of what real Trump voters are.

....but Roseanne is a real Trump voter.

I had seen a couple interviews with Barr prior to the premiere where she talked about "her character" in the show being a Trump supporter and how no one should have a problem with that because, realistically, a lot of white, working class women are Trump supporters.

It seemed entirely reasonable. And I assumed Barr and the writers would use the character's socio-economic ignorance to score some big laughs at the expense of Trump's personal misogyny and pro-rich tax policies.

But now it's revealed that Barr is, personally, a full-blown Trumpublican. So Roseanne is actually a multi-millionaire Trump supporter in her real life who plays a working class Trump supporter on TV.

Guess the joke was on me.
