@Chris Partlow, you get Ed Woodward's job this summer. Who does United sign, and who gets the boot?
I'll believe it when he signs the dotted line. Otherwise, it just sounds like an excuse to make it look like the Club did everything they could to keep ahold of him.Arsene is gonna give a can crusher £330k a week? k den.
lel.
Interesting question--did United have a better overall season than Spurs, City, Arsenal and Liverpool?
There's no arguing that Spurs looked like a better team, were more consistent, and finished higher in the league. At the end of the day, though, the only thing they have to show for it is Champions League qualification. Liverpool, Arsenal, and City also finished higher than United in the league, and only City and Liverpool (possibly) have Champions League next season. Only Arsenal has a shot at a trophy this season, and they're guaranteed Europa next season.
I'm not going to argue that United looked like a better side--they didn't--but at the end of the day they did win two trophies and qualified for the Champions League. I guess my thought is if the end results were a given--and I had the choice of a second place finish and no trophies or two trophies and group stage qualification of the Champions League--I'd probably pick the latter.
Thoughts?

Bottom line, United won a European Competition even if it's the B comp.Spurs deserve props for finishing 2nd, played some good footy again this year. CL for them is a big deal, imo. They weren't a consistent top 4 club before but they have proven with some shrewd bidness (expect for that £30m for Sissoko LMAO!) that they are able to maintain their level as a top 3 prem team.
With that said I would still rather win a trophy. Defo a better season than those other 3 clubs.
Yeah, it's a tricky question. No doubt Spurs looked like a better side this season, but do think their fans would agree? You're qualified for group stage, Pool aren't.Definitely better than Arsenal. Probably better than City and Liverpool. The history books will suggest better than Spurs but the reality is probably different.
One off seasons are all well and good but it's about eras at the end of the day. Hopefully we'll look back at this season as a springboard to better things.
