@Chris Partlow, you get Ed Woodward's job this summer. Who does United sign, and who gets the boot?

Arsene is gonna give a can crusher £330k a week? k den.

lel.
I'll believe it when he signs the dotted line. Otherwise, it just sounds like an excuse to make it look like the Club did everything they could to keep ahold of him.

Interesting question--did United have a better overall season than Spurs, City, Arsenal and Liverpool?

There's no arguing that Spurs looked like a better team, were more consistent, and finished higher in the league. At the end of the day, though, the only thing they have to show for it is Champions League qualification. Liverpool, Arsenal, and City also finished higher than United in the league, and only City and Liverpool (possibly) have Champions League next season. Only Arsenal has a shot at a trophy this season, and they're guaranteed Europa next season.

I'm not going to argue that United looked like a better side--they didn't--but at the end of the day they did win two trophies and qualified for the Champions League. I guess my thought is if the end results were a given--and I had the choice of a second place finish and no trophies or two trophies and group stage qualification of the Champions League--I'd probably pick the latter.

Thoughts?

@LEWIS540 @blokeybloke

obviously you guys

no one will remember spurs lol

Spurs deserve props for finishing 2nd, played some good footy again this year. CL for them is a big deal, imo. They weren't a consistent top 4 club before but they have proven with some shrewd bidness (expect for that £30m for Sissoko LMAO!) that they are able to maintain their level as a top 3 prem team.

With that said I would still rather win a trophy. Defo a better season than those other 3 clubs.

Are you kidding me?!

They hit the top 3 for best losers in Premier League history!!
Trophies >
Spurs have a lot they can build on but they need silverware and can't be getting bounced out of Europe in that fashion again. Not acceptable anymore after this year imo. Squad has experience now.

Definitely better than Arsenal. Probably better than City and Liverpool. The history books will suggest better than Spurs but the reality is probably different.

One off seasons are all well and good but it's about eras at the end of the day. Hopefully we'll look back at this season as a springboard to better things.

Bottom line, United won a European Competition even if it's the B comp.

ajax really battered United today by passing the ball sideways 10,000,000 times.

Yeah, it's a tricky question. No doubt Spurs looked like a better side this season, but do think their fans would agree? I think they'd take the trophies in a heart beat.

You're qualified for group stage, Pool aren't.

Pep and city underwhelmed all expectations. You guys were an eye sore to watch but bottom line you achieved your goals for the season. CL and Trophies.

would you rather be in champions league and win zero trophies
or be in champions league and win multiple trophies?

winning EFL and Europa league are both great, but United shouldn't ever be in Europa league. United were really dire at times this season, but won trophies which is what the club sets out to do every season regardless of the competition. injuries obviously didn't help but every team has injuries, so its not an excuse - i think jose did a good job this seaosn, obviously winning europa league justifies that. hopefully his approach to martial will work, bc he is obviously very talented.

will be an interesting summer with arrivals/departures.

Arsenal are going to fall WAY OFF now.

Bad times ahead

Boot Smalling, Young, Carrick, Rooney, Januzaj and Zlatan.

carrick is expected to coach the u23 while having a diminshed role in the first team, he is still good and i think he had games where he was a big influence for united this year.
