I mean for me, it would have to far cheaper to drive to DC or fly to Houston to see a game then to book an international, trans-Atlantic flight. And then I would have to believe that a few days in American Splendor is better than a few days in the dessert or jungle. I'm sure Dubai or Rio de Janeiro compare favorably, but are the other cities as nice for tourists? Which segues into the other travel amenities - hotels, restaurants, shopping, etc.- cost and quality. In the US we are pre-loaded with a variety of options at various price points. Stay at the Motel 6 and eat McDonalds or stay at the Ritz and enjoy fine dining.
