It would take fans turning on the product "football". Many transfer fees in football are being paid over a certain amount of time, then many clubs have a lot of loans etc. Basically most clubs plan their financial structure expecting the revenue to go up and up or at least to stay the same.My mate was suggesting the same (a crash) but I just can't see it happening with these mega rich oil money owners. It'd take something huge.
In the Bumliga we already see the merchandise numbers and everything else that has to do with fans go down, for the first time in many years.
If more and more people are turned off by the surreal market and stop watching, then a crash could very well happen. If all income channels take a hit then many, many clubs would have to file for bankruptcy almost instantly.
But yeah, it is unlikely that people will stop watching in high enough numbers.
