My mate was suggesting the same (a crash) but I just can't see it happening with these mega rich oil money owners. It'd take something huge.
It would take fans turning on the product "football". Many transfer fees in football are being paid over a certain amount of time, then many clubs have a lot of loans etc. Basically most clubs plan their financial structure expecting the revenue to go up and up or at least to stay the same.
In the Bumliga we already see the merchandise numbers and everything else that has to do with fans go down, for the first time in many years.

If more and more people are turned off by the surreal market and stop watching, then a crash could very well happen. If all income channels take a hit then many, many clubs would have to file for bankruptcy almost instantly.

But yeah, it is unlikely that people will stop watching in high enough numbers.

It might take 5 years it might take 50, but I can see it happening. And how many clubs a really in that money-is-no-object club? Not many. United, Barca, Real will spend big but they still need to balance the books.

United have spent 500m+ very poorly in the last 5 years. Whilst revenues continue to grow that maybe sustainable, but all it takes is a couple of things to go wrong and the bubble may burst.

No company is bullet proof and certainly no football club.

I see where you're coming from, but people have been saying that since the Ronaldo transfer. Instead of going back, prices for average players have just gone up. Never in the history of football have prices for players decreased across the boards.

The other thing is that each league is operating in a different country with different economic forces at play. Then each of those clubs has different situations and structures.

Agree that no single club is bulletproof though.

Hope that made sense, I'm a bit ill and didn't proofread it.

i need to purcahse a pair of these platform vans that all these midget baes wear

Interesting about shirt/merch sales going down. Might that also have something to do with Buyern's dominance though? It'd be interesting to hear what people think are the reasons behind it.

I know Serie A attendance figures have struggled really badly, but people felt it was to do with too much football on TV, so people were just watching on TV or in bars. Some said the Ultras might have had something to do with it too.

Who knows? eSports are on the rise too., that could have an impact on the next generation.

Imagine being a lad and having to buy shoes with platforms.

Not only that but the fact that there’s more money period. Lesser teams are spending more than ever before especially in England whose league revenue has increased a lot and they have a more balanced payout compared to other leagues. Even Championship teams are spending over 10m on players. Imagine what it is for someone halfway decent let alone world class.

I think as a whole it’s good for the league in general though

Having said that Brighton signed Andone for like 5m, albeit relegation clause. They had a nice window last year (Gross, Izquierdo, Ryan etc weren’t too expensive)

Will he do well or end up like my man Eibar legend Borja Baston @Da Speeit

Ever wondered if it REALLY is the contract? Fabinho poses for his signing pictures... but closer look reveals it is just a story copied and pasted from the Liverpool website

Liverpool appeared to let an industry secret slip on Monday evening when Fabinho's 'Player Contract Agreement' was revealed to be nothing more than an old story taken from their own website. Every major football club sits their new signings down behind their new contract with a pen in their hand. Photographers at the ready, the player then signs the paper to make it seem like they are capturing the the moment the deal was complete. That isn't how it works; not at Liverpool, at least.
BIG NEWS!!!
