I meant to hit movies on the tab but it selected no spoilers which I never knew existed so.....anyway

How do you rate Predator? It's an 8 or 9 for me. I'll lean with 9 right now

Synopsis: Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger), a soldier of fortune, is hired by the U.S. government to secretly rescue a group of politicians trapped in Guatemala. But when Dutch and his team, which includes weapons expert Blain (Jesse Ventura) and CIA agent George (Carl Weathers), land in Central America, something is gravely wrong. After finding a string of dead bodies, the crew discovers they are being hunted by a brutal creature with superhuman strength and the ability to disappear into its surroundings.

I bought the Blu-ray months ago for $5 and it came with the digital purchase as well so im watching the digital now.

Its an 8.

Yeah that was my initial score but gave it an extra bump as I was replaying scenes in my head. It's in that 8-9 range for me.
Arnold Carl and Jesse is just a sick trio

True sir, but if I go higher then there's no wiggle room lol.

When you have Bill Duke and Sonny you have to count all five.

That's one of the underappreciated things about Lock Up. Stallone, Sonny Landham, John Amos, Tom Sizemore, Frank McRae. They're so tough that Tom Sizemore has to play the wimp. Also the best performance of Landham's career.

Tango & Cash is kind of a stealth Predator as well. Stallone, Kurt Russell, Brion James, Jack Palance and Robert Z'Dar.

Ugh I need to see Lock up, I remember you telling me about it before. Always wanted to see Paradise Alley as well since it's about pro wrestling.

Movies deserve to go in their rightful categories. As an action flick, this is a 9 for sure. Entertaining as hell

Paradise Alley... That was a passion project and Sly's first turn as a director. Great cast...Armand Assante, Joe Spinell, Frank McRae, Anne Archer, Kevin Conway, Tom Waits, Terry Funk, Ted DiBiase, Frank as a singer of course... The movie looks really nice too, has that 70s lived in grainy feel...could have been off to the side in the Godfather universe or something. It's easy to picture Sonny Corleone in the audience watching the show.

It only half comes together as a movie though...it kind of works but not entirely.

Sly sang the opening theme song and also wrote a novel to go with the movie.

You're a walking encyclopedia lol

There's actually quite a few Stallone movies I need to see: Cobra, Night Hawks and a few others that are on my list.

Escape plan as well since it's Sly and Arn

Lol that's a legit smack too
Gotta love the old acting ways
Yeah they aint got no trickery to hide shit. In the olden times, often you actually had to just do it for it to happen

Guy didnt even take his glasses off

DISRESPECT

Yep that's why I love watching the stunts performed back then. Stuntmen just picked up their limbs and kept going. A toughness forever gone.

Nighthawks is another hidden classic. The way Paradise Alley could have been a side story in the Godfather universe, Nighthawks could have been part of the same world as Cruising with Pacino and maybe Taxi Driver.

Cobra is certainly fun enough that it should be on the list too. But Nighthawks, Lock Up and Over the Top are the three unknown actual good performances.

No CGI fire here son

Washizu's death scene, in which his own archers turn upon him and shoot him with arrows, was in fact performed with real arrows, shot by knowledgeable and skilled archers. During filming, Mifune waved his arms, which was how the actor indicated his intended bodily direction. This was for his own safety in order to prevent the archers accidentally hitting him
