So it turns out that, on average, chimpanzees are 1.5X stronger than a human. The "5 times as strong as a human" line we often hear is actually disproven.




Considering that powerlifters are often 2x/3x/4x as strong as an average human- how would they do against a chimpanzee?

On one hand, chimpanzees are well-built for interspecies warfare. They have powerful grips and teeth.

On the other hand, a world class powerlifter might be twice as strong as the chimpanzee and much larger and heavier.

A chimp has so many ways to destroy you and doesn't give a flying fuck about rules. Powerlifters are some of the most useless people on the planet when it comes to tasks requiring functional strength. They're slow and will generally have no idea what to do besides try to grab the chimp and hold it which will end terribly for them.

Don't underestimate what a chimp is capable of just because of these studies.

You can't really do damage with your bare hands against a chimp. Like punching a grinder if you get too close you will get cut. The chimp would just grab his arm and bite the shit out of it. Jump on their back and tear off his ears and shoulders. Going to be a long night for the powerlifter

When they maul people it's always some old lady. You never hear of a single chimp beating a healthy young adult man in a 1x1 fight.

I actually tried to find a case where that happened and couldn't. The closest was one man that was over 60 that got attacked by multiple chimps.

Chimps are like wolverines, relatively small but super tough balls of fury that deliver ridicolous amount of damage in short time, you have no way to handle them to impose your size/weight and possible gym strenght advantage because by the time you attempt get an hold on them they already fucked you up

See vid of Silverback ragdolling chimp asshole, but beside ridicolous strenght gorilla have skin hard as a leather jacket and more important chimp would go much less crazy on them due fear

Ripping someone's head off by someone that strong is easier than you might think. And it makes your stomach turn. Did for me. Not that weapon beheading is easier to deal with but after a few it becomes matter of fact.

Also human bones are weak. They have enough bite force to cripple. Blind, can't run, wet from your own blood.

I think it's just the teeth they'd have to worry about. If the chimp had a muzzle the powerlifter would win pretty easily.
