Power loss? When is the last time Conor rocked or hurt someone with a punch?

Face it, Conor hasn't dropped anyone with a punch in 5 years.

Maybe dat left got injured at some point or lost fast twitch explosive power.

He literally dropped someone with a punch last year.

Cowboy was dropped by punches, not the headkick.

The Eddie fight was way back in 2016... 5 years ago.

He's fought Dustin, Khabib, and Mayweather since and landed some flush shots that did nothing. Dustin said one of the punches hurt but he barely flinched. Conor used to drop everyone he touched what's going on?

He did finish Cerrone with followup punches but it was the kick and shoulder strikes that rocked him.

He hasn't dropped anyone with a punch in 5 years. Somethings wrong.
The Diaz fight changed him

Prior to this, he truly believed he could knock anyone out.

Afterwards, you started seeing a distinct difference with how much energy he was putting into each strike for fear of gassing out.

A lot of his issue wasnt just cardio, it was his explosive style that uses an extreme amount of energy in very short bursts. Much like Yoel Romero or Woodley, both of whom also have power but also mitigate their energy consumption and through experience, learned how to pace themselves for championship level fights.

His power was clearly gone when he barely phased a 70 year old drunk man with a blind-side cheap shot.

Conor's power came from his speed and precision, not some literal strength as a power puncher. He also had precision with his combos and flurries and would pepper his early opponents with perfectly placed shots.
Nah

That's not really true.

I wouldnt necessarily call him a puncher in the fullest sense of the meaning. But he definitely hit hard.

You dont knock down an iron chinned Nate Diaz multiple times if you didnt. Even Masvidal couldn't knock down Diaz with punches.

He’s never shown devastating power above 145.

He’s not that hard of a puncher.

Tough call. I don't think I've seen many strikers in MMA with anything close to McGregor in terms of precision/angles when he was peak FW. The inherent power that comes from that level of precision feeds itself. No doubt he hits hard, I just think it's relatively average and it was other attributes that really amplified it.

That, he's not fighting midgets either. Connor was king of the 145 because he could put them to sleep with his punches and power.

But 155 and up he's fighting bigger guys and some these cats got granite chins. It happens.
