Pot when you were growing up

When I was growing up, pot made people dumb and lazy. Now that I'm almost 50, I haven't seen anything to make me think otherwise.

I think it's sad how thoroughly Liberal degeneracy has penetrated America, and weed is in the top-3 causes IMO.

When I was in high school, teenagers a.k.a persians were smoking hash. I smoked a little bit and didn't like it.
Some folks would tell me the male Marijuana bud is way better than the female Marijuana bud.
I never liked weed. It's a poor man's drug.
I'm more of an ecstacy user myself.
My first drug was ecstasy and when I tried weed after that I was very disappointed <Lmaoo> I rolled on ecstasy around 200 times :D I'm only doing LSD/shrooms now.

Ottawa was a hash town back in the 80s. It was much more abundant than weed.

Then in the mid 90s weed became more available. For the most part it was shitty weed from biker gangs. Once in while you would find some better strain that was homegrown or from out west.

Things stayed more or less the same until dispensaries opened a few years ago when the government anounced it would be legalized. The dispensaries greatly increased the quality of bud available to those who were not willing to grow their own.

Now that it's legal, getting quality bud is easy as you can buy locally or order on line from BC or whatever legal grower you like.

30+ years of smoking and I'm soon going to move out of my parent's basement (kidding, I'm staying put)...

Hate the term 'pot' can't stand it! When and where i grew up no one called it 'pot,' you'd be laughed at if you did. Lots of people who had very little to do with the drug, or even nothing at all, usually called it pot.
It was called dope.
Oh yeah, Americans called it pot too.

Yep that brick weed we called it "reg" went anywhere from 25-35 a quarter. Mids were hard to come by in rural Kentucky but If it came around it was 50 a quarter. I remember the first time I tried any kind of weed that had a name it was acapulco gold. 20 a gram and one hit blew me away. By the time I was 18 and some of my friends went to college and came home to visit they were bringing back the white widow and new sour diesel. I miss that excitement I would get when I came across good buds. Kids these days will never know the struggle

Heroin is dope in my neck of the woods

Thai weed anyone? That was a variety I have not seen since early 80's and it had a different kind of high. Lumbo AKA Colombian and Colombian Gold were other varieties we saw back then. The real treat back in the 70's was Hawaiian, it was the best way back.

In the 90s we had brick, hydro, skunk, good red hair, monkey paw- which was strong, and then I can't remember what we called shitty bud, but only older people called it dirt. People claimed to have "Maui-wowwie" and tie-stick, but I think it was just good weed.

We was broke high schoolers back in the 90s so it was mostly stress we smoked in the park. My boy named Tiny sold me a dub of kush and that shit was fire! I remember girls coming up to me asking me for his number so they can get the hook up. LOL

Picked me up some Blue Dream this weak. Been my go to hydro for a year now

Shit like this. Fuck this was my golden era! Buying an ounce for fifty bucks was exciting, electrifying, and I slept great when I felt like it. None of this anxiety inducing trash.

its Indica the stuff that make's you lazy and just chill. Or Sativa puts a kick in your step.

I was a religious youth, who also held true to D.A.R.E. in the 90's. That being said my friends started smoking cigarettes around 12, then quickly graduated to weed, and were dropping acid at 14. Small town life I guess?

Grew up with Matanuska Thunderfuck and Northern Lights. $40 a bag. $270 a zip. Met a dude at a movie theater parking lot when the deal would go down.

It was strong. Heavier than most shop strains you'll find. Makes my ears ring. It's cheaper now but stores are so convenient.

I can recall a few times I got ripped off like Fat Freddy.

The last time I got ripped off was in Baltimore, in 2003. A guy on the Greyhound told me he had some good bud, he went into a station bathroom to "wrap it in a napkin", then handed me a wadded up napkin, I handed him twenty bucks.

Or rather, he handed me a napkin, and I paid him twenty dollars for it.
And while it was as much a napkin as it needed to be, it was still too expensive. I always hoped to see him somewhere before he saw me.

I smoked that whole napkin and didn't get high at all

When I was 16 I lived in Chile and my friends were already smoking "pot" they called it "Paraguayan"; it wasn't just weed, it was a bit of really crappy weed mixed with other synthetic things like glue for example. Luckily I never tried that crap.

That shit was all over Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and the South of Brasil- it didn't die out until about 10 years ago.

Nowadays, you can find great pot all over Chile.

There was good weed (bomb). And then there was Mexican weed (bammer). Later, they started making the medicinal stuff which was super good.

Shwag...20 an eighth. Skunky outdoor usually 40. Indoor hydro about 50

I'll bet the US is good competition though.

I used to grow NL back in the day

I haven’t smoked any in the us and growers over here are pretty advanced. However it’s still illegal to grow over here and I can imagine that by making it legal and all the professionals who jump on board, the weed in the US should be just as good (or maybe even better, who knows)

Sounds like all of you were smoking that Susquehenna Weed.

I'm from Vancouver so we always got the good shit, sometimes dank weed with over 28% THC cost 30 for 1/8 which was a fantastic deal but now because of legalization mother fuckers are charging $12-$13 a gram and that shit is depressing.
