Some meh phone camera shots of my stuff. Shrunk down thumbnails, but the full size ones aren't all that great. Need better lighting.
All together (Twins headgear and Fairtex shinguards, no close ups).

First pair of gloves I bought. Some generic brand I got from the school. Work well enough for a backup/starter pair.

Everlast 4oz gloves - Bought these a week before I lost my job. Haven't had the chance to use 'em in training.

"Store Brand" 16oz sparring gloves. More comfortable than the "Budo" ones above. My main sparring glove, at the moment.

Rival RB3's. Second pair of gloves I bought.

They serve their purpose for what I need. About the only other thing I may get would be a nicer mouthguard (Gladiator? But I'll wait till I get some necessary dental work done before I order that) and maybe a pair of MMA training/sparring gloves. Aside from that, I don't think I'll "need" anything else till something wears out. Of course, as this thread clearly shows, "need" isn't the only reason (or even the best) to buy new stuff.

How are the rival rb3?

Here's a few pics of my mitts. Can't wait to try out my new cage side mitts!

RingtoCage curved micro mitts, Grant mitts, Cageside Precision focus mitts

Nice mitts! Are the Grant's brand spanking new?

They're fairly new, about 50 rounds of work. As you can see by the pics, my RTC are my go to mitts, just wish they were a little larger, like the Cageside mitts.

Not a fan of the buckle strap on the Grants. If I keep them, I'm thinking about taking the buckle out and adding a Velcro strap.

How are the rival rb3?

I like them. Haven't had any issues build-wise (no loose threads, no loose lining), and there's enough protection to prevent unnecessary injury while still allowing you to feel the impact.

Thanks. I was looking at a pic of the Rival rb2 in a burgundy/brown. Can't find these anywhere.

Won these last week. Wish they made gloves like these now. You can open and close these like you were working a hand puppet, comfortable, and a true flat striking surface.

saw the ebay listing for those. niiice

your pictures make them look a lot better than that auction's

They dont look like Mexican style gloves..and Seyer were the first to introduce the sleeker Mexican style gloves right? So if my Inspector Clouseau level reasoning abilities are correct you'd need to find out when they made that switch which I thought was in the 60s. Could be completely wrong

So far the earliest training glove I've found was Ali training with Seyer gloves in 1973. His had a triple cuff. Maybe this style is a little older.

Here's an older style I found.

Hopefully I can add some pics to this post Xmas.

Have you ever bought any of their gloves?

I have been wondering about them for a while.

All the best,
Gus

Hi Gus,

A training partner of mine has a pair of these

He's been using them a few rounds a week for sparring for 2.5 years, bought them in NY when he was training there. I had a look over them for only a couple minutes so take this with a pinch of salt but I was impressed with how well they've lasted and their fit/feel. The materials used all seemed good quality, nice soft leather and lining, padding was in perfect shape and medium density and considering how long he's had them the stitching was alright and these gloves really had no clear signs of wear. Decent wrist support, better knuckle protection and a very flat striking surface.

Thank you so much...Eventually I will give these a try, but right now I have way too many gloves :-)

I just bought 3 new pairs of gloves. If my wife thinks I'm buying too much gear I'm going to show her this thread and the ridiculous amount gloves some of you guys own.

Someone listed this on Ebay's buyitnow for $100. I couldn't resist.

I'm gonna have to list some gloves and equipment on Ebay myself, this is collection getting ridiculous.

All black Grant 16's

Just your typical Fairtex BGV1, Handwraps, and Jersey.
Got them pretty cheap here in the Philippines.
