White fairtex I purchased from Elvisfan. At 18 oz's the padding is thick enough to prevent your knuckles from being felt by your sparring partner when going 100% and really safe at 80% sparring. The wrist support is real snug even without wraps. I hit bags/pads and spar with untied laces - I just keep them just tight enough to barely slip them on and off. So far the best gloves Ive owned p4p.
The red bgv6's 12 oz are my favourite bag gloves. Even though I prefer laces. The seperate flat padding Between the velcro strap and hand/knuckle padding gives some serious wrist support as do most thai style gloves but this particular model has a mexican style punchers glove feel - this combination is rare. Compact IS the keyword. Even having used 16 oz reyes with velcro strap I still find the reyes glove loose fitting in strange areas of the glove - ie around the wrist and top of the hand. The padding isnt as well molded to the leather of the reyes velcro's as compared to the reyes lace ups.
Hybrid x gloves were an ancient purchase. 'hard as hell' is accurate. I used to use them for light mma sparring, but havent been doing much besides kickboxing and boxing the last few years.
Reyes 16 oz gloves originally with the hecho en mexico symbol are easily the most durable gloves Ive ever owned. I limited them to sparring years ago after seeing how they turn out after serious pad/bag abuse, best gloves for sparring and getting in sneaky shots against ppl who cover up well. Oddly i would do more damage with the 16 oz kings than I did with my reyes. I'm not sure if anyone has noticed but I think padding that is too soft can be worse on your sparring partner than stiffer molding like the reyes.
My reyes favesaver with nylon bar is awesomely protective. But it moves around alot being one size fits all with how the chin strap doesnt sit right. I think I need fg 2900 or 5000 in white. Drooling like a muhfuckuh...
