Looking to add some Muay Thai gloves. Companies like Fairtex and Top King, are all their gloves "Muay Thai" gloves?

I've had Boon and Fairtex gloves, I've yet to see any difference between Muay Thai and regular boxing gloves.

Top King's making a "super" line, and the gloves look pretty sweet

They look sweet, the prices not so much plus Top King is hard to find. At least, for my pathetic internet searching abilities.

Boxing gloves are pretty shitty if your doing clinch work.

In what way? I haven't noticed any difference in opening or closing my grip in my Boons and Fairtex, compared to my Grants, Reyes or any other boxing glove I've used.

I've only noticed stylistic differences between glove manufacturers, nothing different in the actual use of the glove.

From what I have heard/read at least is the wrist support is different and the area in the palm is much more open and you can grip with it easier.

At least, that's what I have been told. I have settled on some Top King Air's and a set of Top King headgear to match. Will post when they arrive with my other gear.

I've always read and assumed the same until I had a chance to use both styles of gloves. I can't say I'm 100%, but with my limited experience I've seen minimal differences.

Did you decide to go with the neon green? How many ounces for the gloves? Can't wait to see the pics.

Knowing that you got it off somebody for so cheap that I suspect they had a drug problem...

It was probly stolen gear, lol.

You guys sure know how to bring a brother down. :icon_lol:

He was really cool guy. we talked about where each of us trained. He felt that he was too nice for the sport, said he would hurt somebody and then carry them through the fight. That led to talking about Robert Garcia, who is the same way, which led to talking about Brandon Rios' crazy ass, then Johnny Tapia. Very knowledgeable guy, I wish I had more time to talk to him.

I started telling him about my desire to make equipment and his eyes lit up. He said he was sick of his corporate job and would love to do something along those line, started telling me his ideas and which direction he wanted to go, asked if I was open to working with him as a partner. He also mentioned that he had contacts with Shevlin and Grant, did some work with the Judah's. I told him I would touch base with him once I start designing some gear. He was just a nice guy all around.
