Post an Underrated Movie

Running Scared (2006)

Incredibly visually creative movie. Prime Paul Walker. Prime Vera Farmiga.

Has a 41% on RT think it deserves atleast 20 points higher.

Basically the best Twilight Zone episode on 40 years. If that doesnt grab you, then get outta my face. The less you know the better.

Are you serious?

I absolutely LOVE The Twilight Zone.

I have to watch this film now.

Thank you for telling me about it.

I'll research all of those other films that you mentioned as well.

This is why the audience score matters more. Critics can be self righteous jackasses sometimes.

Like JCVD a lot, but don't think I would call JCVD underrated. It got pretty good critical attention and audiences generally like it. I just looked it up and IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes have audience scores in the 70s for it.

I think I would call it little known instead.
Funny thing. Anna Kendrick stated JCVD was one of her favorite movies of all time along with Hot Fuzz.

Event Horizon
I've heard this twice now. But technically EH is I not think underrated. It's a cult favorite especially with GW guys who think of it as precursor fluff to WH40K

Edit: FUCK THIS SHIP!

It does have quite the following but it was a box office flunk. I’ve actually recommended it to a few people who had no idea what it was but told me later they enjoyed it.

How have they never seen it before. I don't get it

Dang Rambo 4 is one of my favorite Stallone movies along with Rocky IV and they couldn't even crack 40%. Neither could Bloodsport? It looks like critics hate having fun while watching movies.

The Killing - 1956 never seems to get mentioned.
Rope - 1948 Hitchcocks creepiest, thanks to Dall's performance
Detour - 1945 good old Poverty Row
Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill - the movie that has it all
Two Lane Blacktop - 1971 Warren Oates (speaking of which)
Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia - 1974
The Mechanic - 1972

I'm always looking for new movies to watch.
Cool thread.

They’re usually right but fail to mention if the movies still enjoyable. A movie can entertaining but still be shit quality. The viewers just need to realize and accept it for what it is. Just look at all the comedies that people consider classics. A lot of them really aren’t good by movie standards but people tend to rewatch them over and over again.

Mechanic would have been legendary if they had recast Jan Michael Vincent. Bronson gave one of his best performances but it was dragged down by the other lead.
