Stipe consistently beats the top HW fighters of his era. He can't control who is born on what date and when their MMA prime might occur. Several of his wins are against fighters who will make it to the HOF. Stipe did all this while working as a fireman in the Cleveland area. He doesn't drive drunk, beat his wife, take recreational or performance enhancing drugs and is an all around great guy. Fedor is a great and legendary fighter, but let's not pretend that he didn't fight lots of cans along the way and also has several embarrassing losses. Fedor's performance in Strikeforce (2009 - 2011) was less than stellar going 1 - 3 with a TKO win over Brett Rogers and getting finished early by Werdum, Big Foot and Hendo (small MW). Fedor was 34 when he got subbed in R1 by Verdum. He was 35 when he got TKO'd by Big Foot and Hendo.

At age 34 Miocic beat Werdum (TKO) for the UFC HW title and followed that up with wins vs. Overeem (KO), JDS (TKO), Ngannou (UD) and Cormier (TKO). Miocic is currently 37.5 years old. Miocic is only fighting the best of the best HW contenders while an older fighter. Cut the guy some slack.
Preach brother. Couldn’t have said it better.

Uhh ok. If he hasn’t. Who’s a HW who has? You literally can discredit anyones resume if you’re a douche.. Stipe is The Best. Deal with it, Turd.

Fedor is the best.

Deal with it kid

And if it isn’t Fedor it’s DC who killed Stipe in one round

Must be hard to walk here with those giants clown shoes.

<{MingNope}>
Can you expound upon your thought? What in that person’s post upset you enough to call him clown shoes. It wasn’t a perfect analogy but pretty close. Please enlighten us. I’m open to hearing all sides of the argument.

did you look at his record BEFORE he fought Fedor? he was 16-2 had wins over former UFC champions like Arlovski and Ricco, and title contender Justin Eilers. there's also the fact that Bigfoot Silva was on steroids his entire career until USADA, and that's when he dropped off when he could no longer use steroids.

the fact that Bigfoot Silva contended for the UFC title should be a no brainer that he's better than a guy who has never even smelled a title contention.

you take it out of context because you have the advantage of hindsight, but at the time Bigfoot fighting Fedor was a big deal. Stefan Struve fighting anyone is never a big deal. you know why? BECAUSE HE'S NOT GOOD. that's why.

Struve beating a washed up Bigfoot doesn't mean he's better like you're suggesting. Struve beat up Big Nog, are you going to argue that he's a better fighter than Big Nog too?

You are generally correct in most of your comments above. Fedor fans do exactly what I have done, selectively include info. that supports my point. Fedor is one of the GOATS, I get it, but some of the guys on this thread need to get off his nuts. Yes, he has some great wins and had some impressive stretches during his career. But he was also beat by a Bigfoot and a bulked up 185er while he was still relatively young.

I am a fan of Fedor. But When Fedor was younger than Stipe is now he lost 3 straight. When he fought decent competition and went back into hiding and fighting cans like 90% of his career. Like I said you can discredit anyone’s fight resume. But Stipe has the best modern HW streak. You act like he’s 25 fighting 40 year olds. Straight up making a bash thread to argue with people.

Fedor never had an embarrassing prime lost like miocic did to Struve

True but he had plenty of close calls (Randleman, Fujitsu, Aroma, Maldonado) & his more recent losses against Werdum & Hendo were def embarrassing.

Something I liked about Fedor was his steady improvement (2000 to 2005). Stipe may not be goat but he's steadily improving... I think DC & most other UFC HW's have already peaked.

i do not deny there are idiots who are Fedor fans also, every fanbase will have morons, but you shouldn't stoop to their level.

i do not agree with the posters who think Stipe sucks or that Stipe couldn't be a contender in Pride or whatever. Stipe is good. as good as most any HW. do i think he's the best ever? no. but i do think he could snag wins over guys who are considered the best ever? for sure.

i also do not agree with the way a lot of posters think GOAT=cannot be beaten by anyone in their prime. GOAT just means on average you'll pick up more wins than losses vs everyone else, that doesn't mean you're going to pitch a shut out vs every single opponent you face. like people seem to think when you're the GOAT you're better than everyone else by miles, but in reality, most of the time, you're only better than the rest by inches.

i never got why people think Fedor's losses to Werdum and Hendo were embarrassing. Werdum is an absolute animal, and vs Hendo he was on the brink of beating Dan himself.

I agree but it was the way he lost that was embarrassing... He was careless against Werdum, basically offered him a gift.
And that's not the best way to lose against Hendo.

If it were any other two names, you wouldn't be calling a fighter barely more than two years into his professional career in his prime, nor a loss to a 25-5 fighter embarrassing.

I know that he beat ngannou but that version was green and Most people believe that he gets KTFO if they rematch.

Stipe has one of the weakest resumes ever for a Champion and people claim that he’s a better HW then Fedor.
Another discount thread, fucking mma fans. Jones beat overblown middleweights and old guys, Stipe fought guys out of there prime, Demetrious fought no bodies, Conor fought smaller guys. Jesus Christ people! Can you give a fighter there dues

Hunt: Had just fought Werdum for the interim title
Arlovski: Was on a 6 fight streak that got him back in the UFC
Werdum: Had just outcardioed Cain and won the HW belt
Reem: Was on a 4 fight streak after reinventing himself as EconoReem
JDS: Dos Santos has only lost to 4 fighters in the UFC (Cain, Reem, Ngannou and Stipe), showing that he remains a top HW to this day
Ngannou: Would anyone other than Stipe survive that 1st round?
DC: Cormier had never lost a round at HW before this fight. And Cormier has admitted that despite being older, he improved AFTER going down to LHW (so while Strikeforce DC was younger, the best version of himself is this older one)

In hindsight, Werdum beating Fedor and then Stipe making quick work of Werdum, people can say Stipe was levels above by starching someone who just beat Fedor handily. It’s sketchy MMA match but sometimes the math makes sense.
