I read up a bit on him too, why on earth would be be a good pick?

I guess it's just that everyone else is god-awful? http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-mike-pence-would-be-trumps-least-worst-choice/
It's still possible Trump is going to pull someone else out of a hat. He likes to play games with the media.

Pence is a better choice than Gingrich or Christie, but I think he can do better. He has nothing to lose by choosing another outsider, as long as that person isn't a total loon.

Any thoughts of the fallout from these leaked DNC emails?

I think the dnc email leak and than Hillary hiring debbie wasserman Schultz to her campaign is going to ruin her. This has to be the last straw. Hillary has been playing chicken with progressives and it's going to catch up to her.

The DNC just apologized to Sanders. I think that's a huge mistake. Apologies inherently acknowledge wrong doing. I think what we've learned from Trump is to never apologize during a political campaign. In my opinion they should just carry on and let the media fire burn itself out.

It would've been mostly harmless to Hillary if she kept distance from it, and then she gave a job and public thank you to the figurehead of the whole thing. It's baffling.

lol wtf was that
Mini-stroke or seizure, I guess. Really scary stuff. I can't stop watching it.

I do have a bit on not Clinton +160. Feeling pretty good about it.

I have a sizable futures bet on the elections which I thought had incredible value because I didn't see Trump making it past the Republican Nominee stage. Well, I miscalculated how terrible the American Republican voters are for nominating him. I genuinely capped this line at -2000+ and its sickening how far Trump has gone for having no political experience (unless you consider bribery and paying off politicians) and essentially being nothing more than a mouth breathing lunatic racist.

I looked at the polls this week and they have Trump leading Hillary which is pure lunacy. There's no way this should be happening and I'm not going to lie and say I'm not worried about this bet losing because frankly I am. I usually do quite well with futures unfortunately this will be my last political bet. I'll stick to what makes me money and that's actual sports betting. A good bettor always learns from his mistakes and even if this bet wins it looks like I'm going to have to sweat bullets and hope that the democrats have something up their shoes. Seriously how is Trump leading in the polls never in a million years did I think this would happen. It's utter BS and the idea of Trump actually making it into the white house is cringe worthy.

I have action on NOT Clinton at +170.

See my earlier comments in this thread, which noted that Clinton is an awful candidate and stood a great chance of being defeated by Trump.

imo you will be able to get much better odds later when Trump has a bad moment. These are the worst odds on Trump in a while.

I'm going to be amazed if Trump becomes president.

I'm honestly shocked he's come this far. He has virtually no experience, he's unfiltered, fairly obnoxious, etc. I realized he would gain a bit of a following due to the simple fact that he isn't a politician and he "keeps it real", but outside of that, can the average voter relate to him? I'm in a very Republican area and unfortunately I have to work with people involved in politics, and many that have voted Republican for years are debating on voting against him even though they hate Hilary as well. I'm just surprised he has held enough appeal to people, especially without really offering any insight on how he will solve all of the problems he is basing his campaign on.

On a personal level, I just can't fathom goofy Donald Trump being the president of the United States. It was around 2 years ago when I got an issue of Golf Digest where he was unfortunately the cover story. He's been involved in golf for years developing courses and such. The article honestly made fun of him most of the time on how bad he embellished, lied, or simply rated his courses far higher than others. At one point, he specifically talks about how he feels the push to get more people into golfing is looking at it the wrong way. He said golf needs to go back to being very expensive and only for the wealthy to play. That's an example of his mindset. It's like he is trying to be controversial and do things the hard way.

With that said, I am absolutely not going to play against him. This is coming from a guy who placed more money on Obama than I have placed on any bet in my life. Normally politics are great to bet on, but this election is a circus and something I'm staying the hell away from!

I think the election has been fairly predictable so far. Trump was leading in the polls for the nomination almost as soon as he announced. He stayed in first place the entire year-long period that his opponents dwindled in number from 16 to 0. He did get a bit lucky when Jeb! refused to suspend his campaign and Marco Rubio revealed his true android nature, but he also survived numerous gaffes of his own, proving himself as the true preference of the Republican voters.

Now he is head-to-head against the weakest major party candidate since George McGovern. Again, totally predictable. Clinton winning the nomination has been in the works since 2008. She is loved by a certain segment of the Democratic Party and hated by most other voters.

She is going to have a very hard time beating Trump. It's all about matchups. Clinton would beat Cruz and probably Carson and Bush, but would lose badly to Kasich. Rubio would be a tossup. Trump v Clinton is a very interesting matchup but it favors Trump for a variety of reasons. Trump v Sanders would be very bad for Trump.

Trump +160 to be pres shall i take it? Any concerns about obamas backing clinton?

I'd take Field over Hillary if it's a similar price. If either candidate drops out for whatever reason their replacement is probably going to have a great chance since both candidates are so disliked. A Field bet would cover your ass if either Trump or Hillary drops out. Health, potential assassination attempts and scandals are all possibilities.

His odds will likely seesaw from near even to +350ish until election day. I wouldn't bet those odds, they're probably an accurate representation of his real chances (a slight - moderate underdog). I still also don't think he'll win, but agree that Clinton is the best foil he could hope for. If I were going to bet him, I'd just sit on it until he says something really stupid again.
