He has the build for it. Should Alex Pereira try to be the first triple weight champion? He could challenge Aspinall and I think the UFC would make that fight. If he won that would enshrine him into UFC history and put him on the GOAT list despite his limited number of MMA fights. I think he should go for it.

I don't see it. He didn't look much bigger or bigger at all than Jiri and no one says Jiri is a monster. Doesn't have an insane reach either. He'd get grappled for sure.

Aspinall beats him however he wants. Path of least resistance though is to take him down and sub him within a minute.

Jiri is 220 and not a grappler. Tom is 261 and a legit black belt. Alex has no hope against a guy who would be 20+ lbs bigger and significantly more athletic and more skilled.

He would have to challenge Jon Jones for the HW belt, and we all know how that would end

Apsinall has legit boxing and serious power. No way Alex lives.
I’d love to see it… both have mega power, would be an entertaining fight. Alex’s leg kicks would be an edge, he’s maybe a little quicker but aspinal is fast too for his size, probably a little more powerful puncher but pereira’s left hook is dynamite also.

He's in the 230s and ripped. He could pack on a bit of fat and be the same size as prime Stipe. Light heavyweights are largely just heavyweights who cut weight.

I think Aspinall could most likely take Alex down and dominate him on the ground. Maybe not though? Alex showed decent defense tonight on his back. He limited Jiri's strikes on the ground and was able to put his back to the fence and finally stand up after a couple minutes of being on his back.

On the feet it's 50/50. Tom really showed us his power tonight. We already know Alex can KO any human on earth if he touches their chin. It would be risky for Tom to stand with Alex and even risk that. I bet Tom could take him down in his first attempt with a blast double.

need to see him next to real HW's. Stipe comes in a little light sometimes and that didn't do so well vs Ngannou. Then we have some guys like Gane who are pretty ripped and are ~250?

Under his current M.O, he's going to lose the belt in his next LHW title fight, then move up and beat a top HW contender followed by winning the HW belt in the next fight.

240s is typically what the best heavyweights are at (Stipe, JDS, Cain). Pereira could get there just by eating a little more. He already has the same build as those guys.
