Media Poatan responds to Usyk

I've never been a huge fan of the weight divisions so that people in the lighter weights can rack up different titles by going up just 4-8 pounds sometimes, especially when it's just a belt or two at each weight but Usyk? First guy to unify the belts at Cruiserweight and Heavyweight since Holyfield in 92, and first to do it in the "four belt" era. I mean, that's just the winning goal. Where does a guy go from there?
Retirement hopefully.

Ukyk or Jake Paul vs Alex Pereira, I would totally watch.

The UFC should let these money fights happen. It's a different sport, if he loses it wouldn't negatively affect the UFC.

UFC's structure doesnt really allow for it. Except for the Toney fight how often would they REALLY let someone one and done it against another STRIKER no less??

That's really what it's all about. People talk about how much the top boxers make vs UFC fighters and it's because of this.

De La Hoya tried and MMA event in the boxing style with Tito vs Chuck 3 but that was two way past prime fighters and not a high enough level of interest. If Khabib vs Conor was done in the format of an independent boxing match, the money both would've made would be insane.

I mean they did make a lot of money anyway.

But I think in the future some free agents can pull it off if the contracts free them up at the right time

It's funny how these fuckers always insist the MMA guy come over to their sport, but never have the balls to come over to MMA...
Usyk is the (formerly) undisputed and undefeated HW champion of the world. He calls the shots. If he wants to fight Alex in an exhibition, it's Alex's choice to take it or not.
He even said it would be a "show fight". So something more for the spectacle than a serious match.
Alex is the one who mentioned Usyk first, just so you know. He said he was interested in a boxing match and Usyk agreed.

If it's a boxing match, Alex gets tuned up and possibly stopped late after a barrage of punches. But I wouldn't rule out Alex making it to a decision, he knows how to survive. Usyk would win a lopsided decision though. His technique and movement are exceptional.
Anyone thinking Alex would win DKSAB. Alex is awesome and a great fighter, but Usyk is truly elite.

Uysk aint no Toney. He would train seriously for that, with world class trainers.
So the argument is that Toney training wrestling for a solid year would've allowed him to stop that low single?

Also, I'd argue that Poatan's kickboxing is light years ahead of Couture's wrestling if we're comparing their abilities in their individual sports.

If we're talking 2028, sure, I guess.
Why not?

Only way it should happen is if they agree to a 2-fight deal. 1 in boxing, then another in MMA. That would be interesting. We all know Alex would be down for that, but no way would Usyk, for a plethora of reasons (and I love Usyk).

Usyk would ridiculously school Pereira in boxing, however, millions would love to see Pereira KO Paul.

If Dana wants to finally take Jake out of the fight game, sending Pereira would be the safe bet.

Hey... dummy.

Poatan actually asked for a Usyk fight, not the other way around as the special students in this thread have implied.

Usyk never asked Poatan to come over to boxing, Poatan asked to box, and Usyk agreed. Poatan's daddy (Dana) won't let it happen, don't worry.

Poatan conquered kickboxing, he's conquered mma, and he wants to try an conquer Boxing, but instead of celebrating him striving for greatness, you (and the folks like you) decide to be salty bitches.
Interdasting.

I love Usyk and Poatan so if this happens, I hope it happens after their respective careers are mostly over, for one final big ass payday.

In pure boxing, Usyk dominates Alex.

Would be nice but there isn’t a scenario where Dana would allow this. Conor talked his way into fighting Floyd. Alex doesn’t have that ability

You want Usyk's lead leg amputated?
There has to be something that makes it competitive. Poatan would just be showing up to collect a check because he only has like a 1% chance of winning in just straight up boxing. I thought I was compromising already by making it kickboxing instead of mma. It's really a waste of time unless you give Poatan a way to win.

I don't want to see it. Sure nice payday for Alex but he loses. These boxers are going to have the advantage in these bouts against MMA guys. They of course have no fear of calling any them out. An easy night of work for the most part for the boxers.
