The guy doesn't speak and doesn't even have to speak a word in English and people love him. Asking why is already beside the point, for one cannot "explain" it. You don't "understand" what is it about Poatan. Either you feel it or you don't. You don't get Alex, you have to speak Alex.

People really hate Izzy.

Pereira initially had very few fans that weren't Adesanya haters. Thankfully, he finally has his own supporters with his fight anyone, anytime mindset; accomplishments; and fan friendly fighting style. It'll eventually catch up to him when you consider his age, causing many people to jump off the wagon, but at least he's getting his shine right now, and deservedly so.

Lol no.

He'll never catch on with the casuals. No matter how hard the marketing teams here try to convince people otherwise

I like him but I will admit this current generation of UFC LHWs aren't that good. I don't believe the UFC has all the LHW talent out there but it's also the promotion letting go and not pursuing quality LHWs.

Whatever the case, Alex is on his run now and we should enjoy it while it lasts. He fights a lot for an older fighter.

It's why Jiri got so mad at the spirit comment as Jiri's entire life and persona is built around trying to be a bushido samurai or some shit.

God bless him for trying and fighting like it, but he's a Czech and can't ever get past that on a real level.

Pereira just is and you feel it.

This.

For real.
Finding out he loves pulling pranks and practical jokes just... fits.

That's I think what's also put a lot of people on him recently now that his coverage is so much bigger and he's not just some mysterious violent fighter to people nowadays. He's all stoic and serious, and come game time actually is that for real as he actually can be that when it's time for war, but the rest of the time he's actually just fucking with you because he knows his looks, size, and background are intimidating.

Everybody knows a big giant like that.

hoping this a drunk troll post. it is not that serious. i think humility is just so foreign to humans that its intriguing for some. confusing for others. its not witchcraft. hes just a good fighter. damn goodgood fighter. damn good. a humble knockout artist? truly a saint of just bleed.

It was like the first time I seen Fedor smile, he almost felt like an uncle or something lol

What generation do you think he couldn't have been UFC champion in?

Tito/Randy/Vitor/Chuck is 50/50% (and even then the chins are his best bets to avoid getting wrestlefucked)
Rampage/Forrest/Rashad/Machida/Shogun is like 80/20%
Jones/DC is yeah like 90/10%
Jan/Glover/Jiri/Hill he's literally 75/25% already and the other guy's his own coach

Just because his grappling isn't as strong as his striking doesn't mean his striking stops being as deadly as it ever is. The Jones/DC era is his worst chance, but it's not like they lost title fights to anybody else except DC to Jones.
