Media Poatan and Shogun jokingly face off

Jon Jones was the GOAT of beating up blown up MW's.

Lil Nog dropped him Alex would KO

Lil Nog won a bronze medal at the Pan Ams for boxing and was at his absolute peak when he fought Shogun and was 11-1 in his last 12 going into that fight. That version of Lil Nog out grappled Hendo with ease and armlocked him as if he was a white belt. He could easily do the same to Alex on his best day.

In general Rogerio didnt have Poatans power but he was a much better boxer than Alex is. Shogun getting dropped by Lil Nog isn't an indicator of what Poatan would do to Shogun. It's just one scenario in fight A and has nothing to do with fight B.

Shogun would fight Alex a lot differently than he fought Lil Nog who presented a real threat on the ground. I'd imagine Shogun would utilize a grappling heavy approach against Poatan with lots of work in the clinch.

I could say if 41 year old Jan Blachowicz easily took Alex down and nearly choked him out and how that means Shogun would easily submit him but that's not how fighting works.

Could Poatan KO Shogun? Sure. He could KO anyone but Shogun could also knock him out or drag him down to the ground and finish him with GnP and soccer kicks like he did to Reem. Alex arguably lost to 41 year old Jan Blachowicz.

Shogun at his very best was much better than 41 year old Jan. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a recency bias U FIGHT CHEAP fanboy and nothing more.

Alex would've been a great addition to the prime Chute Boxe team

The way they sparred in that gym and with Alex's power, the average Chute Box career would have been shortened by half a decade at least.
I made an account here to argue about Shogun vs Machida. I'm a huge fan of Shogun, and no joke cried a little when he finally rightfully won the UFC title, but even in his prime, Poatan would be the toughest fight of his career. I think Alex takes it the majority of the time as he's just fuckin huge, too fast for his size and hits too hard.
