NBA Playoffs thread - Scientists unite

Lmao. I honestly feel bad for Canny that he has to put up with this shit.

Kid should be in college getting an education.

LeBron putting up nearly 40 in a play off game at age 40, against the wolves who are full of athletes / aggressive defenders. Goat things.

He went absolutely beast mode with that series of threes.
Sucks that with Luka not at 100% that none of the other role players stepped up. Reeves has been pretty awful all series.

I'd love to see some big data on it, but there's something about role players on the road seemingly not being nearly as effective as at home. And it's weird to me at least because all courts are the same size, equipment too. I don't think there's much in the way of rules helping the home team. Probably friendly rigged favors home team, and I think professionals should block out impact of fans cheering and stuff, but still, it just feels intuitively to me that there's a vast difference in performance for role players for home/away.

They're right. You can really see the difference if you have any objectivity whatsoever.

Imagine the GOAT joking around with Gary Payton with two minutes to go in a game 3 and having zero impact in the clutch lmao. Or Kobe shitting the bed and having a chuckle with Chris Webber.

This fucking era lol.

That’s true. You usually want to have at least one big game from your role players on the road since they don’t produce like they do at home.

I was saying in the other thread this narrative needs to die. The guy wants his team to play the right way, and then to win, else the job isn't done. He obviously takes his job very fucking seriously and wants to win.... and then to go to his horses.

Ultimately though Denver is cooked. Jokic, Murray, and MPJ combined can't do enough defensively. MPJ in the playoffs is like a poor man's Tobias Harris. Gordon is a hidden key to success given he can play defense when healthy, but he's obviously messed up. But the actual construction of the team is off now - even though KCP is having a shit year for the Magic he was important to them in prior years from a chemistry standpoint, they need some sort of defensive monster to balance out.

If Reeves could be a threat, he’d open up so much offense. But Wolves have just roughed him off the ball all series so far.
