I think I would have the best chance of survival with 3 Navy SEALs and 250 Mongols. To be honest, it’s probably not even close. Only extreme constraints in tight indoor space would make it competitive. Otherwise, it’s a lopsided matchup.

I think volume does matter in a situation where you can be drastically outnumbered and need both offense as well as protection.

If my goal was as much damage as possible as fast as possible give me the samurai’s and mongols. But to try and stay alive I’d take mongols for offense. And 500 legionnaires for defense. The hope would be the legion can slow down enemies and protect me while holding their own and allowing the mongols to run wild and use mobility to run down the enemy.

If this is on an open field, 3 Seals are going to try to snipe you as enemies as long as survival isn't on their minds so you will need a sea of humanity in front of you.

If it is on an open Field, 3 Seals defending against hundreds of attackers are also eventually sitting ducks who can't shoot 250 Mongols fast enough before being overrun.

If you get to run and set up on a rocky mountain everyone has to climb to get to you and have 30 Grenadiers lobbing explosives down...that changes things.

Or even in a 10 story apartment Building. Blow up/Collapse debris on all the stairwells up to the 4th floor and turn off the power to the elevators and just death from above them with Superior range of guns and drop explosives on their asses

Absolutely.

I am also trying to consider the mindset of the people. Are they all up to date on the current war meta? Did they have time to communicate with everyone else and have them be on the same page? No way the legonnaires and vikings would understand a grenade going off near them, and I really think they would break rank fairly quickly if one is tossed into their formation. Lots to really consider. Very fun.

Seals sneak into the Mongol camp at night, kill many horses and khans.

Mobility negated.

Probably have the grenadeers or janissaries as the big blocking force to hold off charges along with while the SEALs pick off targets from 300 yds.

As someone else said, you gotta pick the seals b/c you would not want them attacking you backed by so many other groups.

It's not so much that I think they'd be great at defending me it's just that I don't want them attacking me.

Seals and Mongol horde b/c as we all know when it comes to Mongols they don't come in anything less than a horde.


If we remove the Seals - it's between Legionnares, Mongols, Janisaries IMO. A big group for defense and then some good offense. Samurai and Vikings are cans.

I'm gonna try to min-max with the Seals and Samurai. The Samurai can occupy, while the Seals act as the mobile unit. The Japs won't fuck around. I mean, you'd have to nuke them TWICE to get them to give up.

400 samurai makes no sense unless they're dueling each other one on one or going against ashiguru specifically. Their weapons and fighting style was impractical. They also got butchered by single shot rifles.

Assuming flat open terrain, I gotta go mongols and samurai. I'd have two mounted fearless mobile armies of 650, I'd send them out to encircle and take out the seals first, then our mobility and superior archery and sword skills should get me through the rest.... i pick this guy to lead my samurai
