So Tim said that , Trump said...
But he liked more what he put in his book.
I asked AI for a few examples what negative things, he said about Trump on Fox.
March 2016Fox News appearance discussing Trump's foreign policy comments (e.g., on NATO and military strategy)"It’s typical Trump, all bluster, very little substance... He talks a tough game. But then when pressed on it, he’s an armchair tough guy. I hate to say it, but this is a guy who said that John McCain is not a war hero." Hegseth emphasized Trump's lack of nuance, saying he relied on TV shows like Meet the Press for military advice rather than real expertise.October
2015Fox News segment on Trump's debate performance and military knowledge"You wouldn’t want a top-tier presidential candidate getting all of their military advice from watching ‘Meet the Press.’ There’s a lot more nuance. There’s a lot more detail." This was part of broader doubts about Trump's grasp of complex issues like ISIS strategy.
As for whataboutism it matter in this context, there is a lot of whataboutism, doesn't make it not true.
I think Trump picked him but his way of thinking and what he was talking about in his book with the military, DUI and things like that. Is he some over qualified pick ? no, not even close. What he said last week about fat generals and people in the halls of pentagon was ridiculous, I think at a certain rank if they are overweight that is fine. I will take a overweight expert over a dumbass fit person.
