It's a fair argument even with Peirera's lackluster standup. You do incentivize hugging if hugging wins a belt.

Did Pereira even land a single meaningful punch? Very disappointed in his performance. He basically just showed up not to get taken down.

Only one of them got Rocked in the fight and it wasn't Ank.
The complaint basically equates to "They didn't give me another win in MMA because my opponent didn't agree to only kickbox against me" is sad. Alex did a great job not getting taken down but he did a shit job fighting while not getting taken down. Ank did a great job striking with a striker by threatening TDs and clinching.

All these complaints makes me wonder why don't some of you go watch kickboxing? They don't have any TDs or Wall n Stall.

Crazy close and both didn’t do that much most the fight. Ank had a big second round though. Ank by PRIDE rules imo and coin flip unified.

Exactly, if "he did nothing" then you did less than nothing. But many Sherdoggers think he scored fight winning points from the judges via defending takedowns. I think defending takedowns is right in front of Octagon Aggression in the official scoring criteria.
