I'd be surprised if they booked that, like I know the UFC have had some crazy matchmaking but this one would be pretty insane.
I know both guys are in tricky situations for who they have to fight next(LHW being in limbo until Ank/Walker 2 and HW being put on hold until Jones/Stipe), however the last thing that should happen is another double champ fight.
Especially with two newly crowned guys who haven't even defended their own titles yet.

THe problem is what is really being proposed isn't "super" or really all that special.

Yer women champs have 1 defense each.... (well, a draw lol), no 135/145 champs.

Yer mens 135/185/205/and HW champs have an amazing 0 defenses between the four of them. The ones that legit should get super fights like Volk got their chance and didn't insanely bog down a division forever.

It's just not as special as what some of the other "super fights" or champ vs champs fights are they don't defend their own belt at the very least.

I really cannot see Pereira doing this at this time -- going up to HW.
He really should just stay at 205 and solidify his reign there. Why would he go up to HW and face a BJJ expert in Aspinall and risk getting a loss? Doesn't make any sense and if UFC are interested in promoting Pereira as the New Face of 205lbs, they wouldn't want him to take a loss in any division.

Personally I hope Pereira has a long extended title reign and that Adesanya retires. He was over-rated. lost 2 out of his last 3 fights and he was losing the other one before he clipped Poatan. Plus he is a bit of a Chookagian as when he does win, it's very often by a decision.
- IA is not exciting in any way.
Look at Dricus : 8-fight win streak, last SIX were UFC fights....won them ALL, and 5 of them by KO or sub. Now THAT is exciting and UFC should be promoting the hell out of Dricus. F Adesanya.

Let's clear out some old names and get these newer fighters / champions in the picture.

I hope to see multiple retirements in 2024, including :
- Miocic (like him but he never fights
- McGregor (horrible person, substantially over-rated fighter, and clearly has an unusual 'diet' that he's been taking for years now)
- Ferguson (completely shot chin), doing it for $$ and pride these days
- Ian Garry (wannabe McGregor with an an even less likeable persona)

Totally agree. There was constant bitching about GSP not moving up ti fight Silva and now it's bitching about Islam fighting featherweights. That's just a couple examples too. How many threads were there that Jon was scared and would never fight at heavyweight? There's really no pleasing people, the narrative takes hold and people use it to discredit fighters they don't like
