She was getting sat down with jabs. Amanda comes back in shape and wins.
Glad she lost so we don't have to see her kid again.
Ignoring the first part, i can get with the last part of your post. At this point it's just impossible to say what caused Amanda to gas. Totally reasonable that she gassed before she got hit, but that's not a good sign either. Terrible sign actually.Disagree. Conditioning is conditioning. Nate Diaz can take a beating but last with cardio into the 5th. You don't gas just because you take shots. She started to get beat up BECAUSE she was gassing.
The upset was huge. The actual fight was dogshit poor in terms of quality. Lets be honest.Upon rewatching the classic that is to be Nunes/Pena 1. It will stand the test of time and im happy it took place in my time.
Peña definitely looked smaller than Amanda in the cage, to me at least. To me it looked like Pena has the same body type, with broad shoulders and long arms and might have been just as big or even a little bit bigger then Nunes, altough that's kinda hard to make out on tv.
If she hits people at the end of her punches, just like Nunes always does I can pretty much garantee you she hits just as hard as Nunes and she's good on the ground.
About Nunes not being in shape, before the fight I noticed Nunes looking leaner to me then I ever saw her before, so I don't think that's the case.
I think Nunes got hit harder then she expected and then made the wrong choice and started swinging.
I can see both girls win the rematch, it kinda depends on who's chin cracks first.
So in order for a fight to be a classic every technique must be picture perfect? The upset was huge. The actual fight was dogshit poor in terms of quality. Lets be honest.
A classic that you are happy took place in your time.
Wow.
Literally the only thing Amanda has to do in the rematch is not gas. Folks forget that she was winning pretty easily before she started to fade.
Pena will win the rematch, she doesn't react the same to getting hit, It truly is just as pena said. other girls go in there defeated before the bell rings. they put nunes on this pedestal like an idol.
She can be broken and will quit just like pretty much any other fighter.
Pretty much what I saw. Pena goaded her into a wild brawl and bet on her chin and to her credit it worked.
Disagree. Conditioning is conditioning. Nate Diaz can take a beating but last with cardio into the 5th. You don't gas just because you take shots. She started to get beat up BECAUSE she was gassing.
View attachment 897754This was Kayla's 145lb debut in Invicta. No problem w/ the cut and looked great.
Damn good assesment.Doesn't seem like rocket appliance to me in the words of a Canadian philosopher.
Amanda could take her punches initially and somewhere along the line the accumulated damage reached the tipping point or that one strike did her in.
Pena wins the rematch and Nunes looks the same/worse. Nunes either tries to over swarm her or tries to over technical it with an eye on looking cool for the camera while Pena focuses on just winning without caring how it looks.
Yeah i think it played a role. 1st round is overlooked because Nunes was on top, but she was in danger. So no one else thinks the grappling exchanges in round 1 played a big role in Nunes gassing? She was absolutely going for the finish and not just laying on top like against De Randamie. It wasn't beautiful grappling but Peña defended very well and that tends to gas you if you're not used to putting yourself in those situations in training
No. Nice strawman argument though. So in order for a fight to be a classic every technique must be picture perfect?
It's a fight dawg
