Payton Talbott hype train derailed as fast as it started

Reminded me of Sean Omalley, had a good start but seems to suffer from the same fate with pressure and grappling, has a lot of time and at least didnt took a major beating this time.
It’s good he got this lost early in this career and if he’s really dedicated and learn from this he will improve or he’s just going to be another stubborn fighter. He’s young but compare him to other fighters his age the gap in skills is wide.

He's young, he'll come back. A lot of fighters take these losses and come back stronger, Islam got KOed, look at him now.

Even more recently, Raul Rosas Jr. got fraud checked, but has come back to win his last 3. Learn a lot more from a loss.

yeah but the difference is Islam got fluke KO'd. Talbott was just dominated for 15 minutes by a 37 yr old.

sad how many old guys are able to beat so many young fighters. Pereira, Barcelos, Glover, Belal.
That’s exactly I never subscribe to the notion of fighters being out of their prime after a loss. Hell people are already saying Leon Edward’s is washed. Age is the biggest myth when it comes to a decline of MMA fighters, if anything MMA has shown that athletes had a longer shelf life than other sports.

A hypothetical isn't a good base for comparison. He got caught, we don't know how the fight would have gone if he hadn't got caught, cause he did.

Anyway, there are many other examples of people bouncing back. Payton is 26, he's got 10 years left in the sport at minimum

Hear hear. This is the point where things actually get interesting. Will he be the type to get discouraged, or will he take it as a wake-up call? Now we find out.

And personally I prefer having hype trains stalling out. Crazy adulation of people lionizing you and the pressure of their expectations, especially when you're young, just isn't healthy for one's development.

I thought he showed some pretty incredible composure tonight. Didn't expect him to hang on after that first round.

Who’s mad? I’m laughing at him lol

Ya painted toe nails are cool, assuming they’re on a girl.
