Not that they're totally independent variables, but, there's a reason many boxers don't even touch weights -- Tyson is pretty well known for only doing bodyweight stuff.
For punching power, working on specific full body explosive movements is much better, like throwing medicine balls or stuff like that.
Weight lifting is more for general conditioning.
Ngannou doesn't lift weight either.
