He got 55K to show.

Compared to:
Platinum sensation Mike Perry - 40K to show
Next Anderson Uriah Hall - 48K to show
TUF winner Michael Chiesa - 37.5K to show
UFC employee Paul Felder - 46K to show

And he's 4-0 in the UFC.

Either Walid Ismail is such a great manager (I doubt that) or there are some upcoming plans for the chap.

What thinks you?

Why are all these good exciting names paid like scrubs

I can't believe how little money these fighters are making. No way I would get my face bashed by a guy like Costa on a regular basis for 50k a fight.

Well let's see...

In a key demographic
Good looking
Damn near flawless physique
Fan-friendly style
Finishes fights violently

Yeah, they want to keep him around.

He's HANDSOME as fuck. Even chicks will tune in to watch his fights.
He fights like a terminator. Constant stalking and winging bombs until his opponent folds under the pressure.
Non-stop action.

Either he knocks you out, or he gets knocked out. He's like a Justin Gaethje with better physical gifts(even if they're unnaturally enhanced by Brazilian fruit Juice).

Deserves everything he makes. He's got the looks to cross over into pop culture easily. Could play Superman if he didn't have the fucked up accent.

really good pay considering he got beat on TUF.

My thoughts? He needs a boxing coach.

He attracts women viewers, that alone is worth something.

Most UFC fighters are ugly as fuck (or became ugly after too many years of getting beat up)

I wonder if he can beat a top 5 fighter next.

he will soon be making a lot more if he keeps winning

dude looks like he's photoshopped and just walks forward throwing bombs

they are deperate for stars. They make a star and then they don't fight or retire.

He's gonna get derailed so hard. Anytime the UFC has high hopes for a young fighter, they get derailed.

They all look pretty replaceable to me.

Felder is not just a fighter though.
Sure ,they can find another color commentator, but it will be much more complicated to do than filling the matchup with someone from the huge roster.

damn, how does he afford all that designer horse meat with that pay. 70% of his paycheck probably goes to his local butcher

At the end of the day, most fans want to watch knock out artists, not dry humpers that go to decision.

That's stupid.
Uriah Hall just lost to borrachinha last weekend. Matter of fact, he is 1-4 in his last 5... not exactly stellar or deserving of 100k per fight purse....
Mike Perry is 1-2 in his last 3 (was 2 losses before last weekend). Also not someone who accomplished anything yet.
Chiesa just lost his second straight. He is great against lower tier, but then loses to journeymen or better.

That's while Borrachinha just beat your "next Anderson" and ended the great career of Hendricks, an ex-champion, on MSG.

So of all the names you threw, Borrachinha is the ONLY ONE who is actually climbing to the top echelon of MMA.
He is also unbeaten at 12-0.
Let us not forget that some unbeaten guys at 12-0 would be getting title shots about now.
And it is not like UFC is taking any chances with him! He has been thoroughly tested by USADA and they are giving him guys progressively harder.

IMHO it is well deserving of his pay. Matter of fact, he should be paid more, since his next opponent should be guys ranked in the top 10.
