Patchy Mix

hate to say this because I'm already biased towards this region...but you rarely see this happen with Russian/stan fighters from other orgs. like I'm confident this wouldn't happen with Shamil musaev. I also think Pico will shine much brighter in the UFC

but that was shockingly bad from Mix

Yeah it's weird how sherdoggers are using Patchy Mix - just a single fighter - as supposed "proof" that every champ and high level fighter outside the UFC is actually an overrated journeyman.

If a guy like, say, Islam Omarov came over to the UFC, he's going to stand on business. Can say the same about many other Kavkaz/Russian fighters.

for sure.....partly because they already have to go through a killers row competing in that region to even get to the top before coming over.

Single fighter?

Brooks, Lombard, Chandler, Branch, Pitbull...

But for each of those guys, there’s Jiri, Gaethje, or even Eddie Alvarez.

I don’t know what to think about Patchy. He’s not a can, you don’t beat guys like Horiguchi or Sergio Pettis if you’re a can. Dude has allegedly rolled and held his own with Khamzat, and Belal…

And yet that performance last night was straight up embarrassing.

Patchy always had bad boxing
His last fight with Maga Magomedov was razor-blade close, and he couldn't counter the boxing with wrestling with Bautista. However, I still believe he beats guys like Vera, Cejudo, Phillips

I know there have been a few threads about him in the past.

Looking at his record, this dude is an absolute top guy

He's 19-1, against some heavy opposition (submitting Pettis, Magomedov, Gallagher, Morales, and Ewell, knocking out Stots, and besting Horiguchi). Almost all of those wins are via submission. He rarely goes to decision. Only a few of his fights have been particularly close. He often dominates. No split decisions here.

He's also 8-0 in the amateur's.

Only loss is to Archuleta, who's another top Bellator guy.

Stylistically, I think he'd be a top 3 guy in the UFC, especially in that Bantamweight division

Put some respect on his name!
Your boy got 30-27'd by Goat Bautista, no matter how many cans you have beaten outside the UFC, you are not UFC level

Plus, half those fighters he listed came to the UFC a half decade + past their primes.

Agreed

Why didn't he even attempt to grapple, it was so fucking weird.

Its time to admit we were wrong all along. UFC fighters are truly head and shoulders above everyone else. No current PFL fighter would touch top 5 in the UFC (save for Ngannou). All these Bellator champions and prospects turned out to be an embarrasment. Each getting worse progressively. Mix was just the epitome of this, getting fraud checked and embarrased in front or millions. At least there wont be any expectation for Pico, anymore. And, Eblen, AJ, Usman, and Nemkov should just stay in PFL and make as much money as possible.

I was a believer that some of these organizations like pfl, rizin etc had some of top notch guys that could compete in the ufc top 5 like mix, Nemkov, eblen etc but I was wrong, these guys are more 15-25 talents if that.

RDR came from ONE, Jiri came from RIZIN, etc. One fight doesn't mean that all guys from those orgs would fail in the UFC.

I met him at a restroom and he said yo I need to lose my debut in the UFC, we bet big cash on the other guy and Dana pays me a crazy tripple bonus to fail so the UFC looks better than the other orgs.

(none of this ever happened, I made this shit up)
