How far will Patchy go in the UFC after losing in his debut?

It's so hard to say. Dude looked like an absolute victim in front of Bautista for 15 straight minutes. That's rough, man. We didn't even see his actual A-game which in one aspect means he still has potential to do well, but at the same time that just damns him more. Why could he or did he not implement that? Was Bautista's footwork and distance management throwing him off that much that he never felt confident making his entries? Did he have some kind of bad injury or weight cut that eroded his confidence in his ability to grapple at a high pace? Does he just have shit fight IQ?

I should also note that, like... the man doesn't really have any excuse for looking that bad as a striker. He has all the intangibles you could ask for as a primary grappler in order to have serviceable, threatening standup:
  • Height/reach advantage over a lot of his opponents
  • Freak athlete
  • Takedown threat
  • Southpaw
  • Years of experience training at great gyms filled with good coaches, getting good reps in with elite fighters around his weight class. Seriously, every time a fucking size comparison picture pops up of some notable fighter from 125 to 155 from any org or any gym... it seems like Patchy Mix is in that lineup, getting work in with them. Yet he sucks this bad?

To answer the OP, just based on a rough guess between how good he looked in Bellator versus how shit he looked last night... maybe lower Top 10 at best. And that's pushing it. I wouldn't be surprised if he settles in at the 20-15 range.

I honestly think they should give him Pedro Munhoz next. Pedro is always game for a scrap with big power and nasty low kicks, but he's 38 years old and has T-Rex arms. Not to mention he's currently on a loss streak. If Patchy Mix with all his physical advantages gets badly pieced up by him... that's pretty telling. More interestingly, lots of guys have seemed terrified of going to the ground with Munhoz due to the fear of his submission game, especially that guillotine of his. If Patchy looks reluctant to grapple Pedro... again, says a lot. Not sure what, but a lot.
