How far will Patchy go in the UFC after losing in his debut?

Too many - he was not himself and not enough Bautista is good enough to stifle and neutralize him.

Anyhow, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he'll make top 10 but not crack top 5 at some point.

Agree with the first two but to be fair Pitbull and Chandler are both like a full decade removed from their primes. You mentioned pre-covid it was different but that's when they were in their primes.

Daniel Weichel is another one that would have been fun to see in the UFC around 2014-2016 era

Pitbull's best rivals are all long retired. Back when Curran and Strauss were still top competitors, the bellator FW division had some action going. I was never particularly enamored with their BW division, though, and Sergio Pettis briefly dominating it only further exemplified how low quality it was.

He looked like shit, Bautista is always underrated but man Patchy fought horrible. Give him the Kyler Philips/Vinicius winner or Said/Mitchell winner.

Pitbulls division 2013 to 2016 they had at least three guys that would have been top 10 and at least one of them would have fought for a title. Mind you this was the era where guys like Ricardo lamas were fighting for a belt so UFC FW wasn't exactly a bloodbath.

They didn't really have that many BWs signed during that era at all, wasn't really much of a division.

I think he comes out and dominates in his next fight to be honest. he just looked like a guy who had been out for a year and started to get going in the 3rd.
Can I say I think we saw Bautistas level. He looked great but is happy to sit on a lead and hope for the win. It's not going to do him well in 5 rounders.
Dissapointed in Mix, but he should bounce back.

He just looked so slow and impotent on the feet.

Something you would expect to see from an unranked LHW/HW, but not a hyped up BW.

I said that in the PbP that Bautista is a good fighter, but i think the Aldo bout left a bad taste in people’s mouths. The Bautista that practically dominated Mix, is the same one that beat Aldo, it really says more about Aldo even at his late stages of his career that a champion like Merab and Contender like Bautista couldn’t really get anything going in terms of a offensive front to finish him Aldo.

Bautista deserves a top opponent next.

Dude 2013-2015 FW division was the golden age of FW MMA with guys like Aldo, Edgar, mendes, conor, Cub, poirier, and yes, even Lamas. Lamas was a legit contender in a stacked FW era.

His biggest downfall is his complete lack of Fight IQ. He got plenty of skill but with that mental game he ain't going anywhere.

Wherever org he came from must have really low tier fighters cause he looked like trash.

Terrible striking, no speed, no power, zero defense. How he was 20-1 is a testament to how awful his competition was.

Yeah, he very well may have a phenomenal ground game for all I know but it's crazy how he racked up a 20-1 record with those types of massive holes in his game. Not to mention the fight IQ aspect. I get that he was struggling with his footwork and probably never felt comfortable shooting a takedown because he couldn't set one up but at some point you gotta just start panic wrestling because you're getting smoked on the feet.

i'm not impressed with any of these top guys in other orgs. so far they have proven to be jobbers.

asakura, patchy, pitbull, chandler were all severely overrated

precovid it was a different story wtih gaethje and alvarez

TBF Asakura lost to the champ, not like it was some scrub that beat him

The only thing i know is that he is going to get KOd bad.

Staying in lesser orgs for as long as he did probably did him a disservice. RDA was riding a none fight winning streak when Jeremy Stephens turned him into a human pez dispenser in his UFC debut and showed him he had to dramatically improve his striking game. But RDA was only 23, not on the wrong side of 30.
