You can't defeat Afghanistan. They are the cockroaches of the middle east in terms of survival. As for Pakistani people, we are allowed to shorten the word to the first 4 letters now? I got double yellows talking about my local gas station owners a few years ago for using a racial slur.

It's a weird one. To me it's always been a slur, but I grew up in Toronto. Apparantly its 100% commonplace in other areas.

As a general rule, if you have to ask, probably best to avoid it.

we’ve always known Pakistani foreign policy (everything really) was incompetent but it’s cool to see their backing of the Taliban blowing up in their face. It looks like it started back in the UK, when the UK government was mass importing people from the whole region, not just Pakistan.

'P**i' was used as an insulting catch-all for any immigrants from the Indian subcontinent, be they from India, Pakistan or Bangladesh. 'P**i-basing' was a thing for the racist skinhead culture of the late 70s and early-mid 80s, they would talk in terms of a night's entertainment, 'go out and do some 'p**i-bashing' ('queer-bashing' was similarly a thing back then)

Been pretty common as a slur in Toronto since the 80's. But then you get guys who moved to the UK before Canada and that's how they refer to themselves.
