I wonder, if paddy would beat Jared Gordon in a proper way now.

Paddy may well end up being GOAT. The tears will be generational.

That Chandler win has gone to his head and will be his downfall

I honestly feel like about 80% of this “moving up” trend, going all the way back to Conor, is because most fighters start their careers in weight classes that are too low and end up killing themselves to make the cut for some perceived size advantage. As they age, the cuts get even more brutal, and once they win a belt, they finally have the leverage to stop draining themselves.

Paddy probably should’ve always been at 170. Conor probably should never have fought at 145. Khamzat likely had no business being at 170 either.
I don't know about that Paddy started as a bantamweight, and was defending the featherweight title in cage warriors.

I think lightweight is his ideal weight class, he's probably too small for 170lbs.

Lightwieght is not currently ideal for him as he allows himself to balloon to near 200 lbs between fights (so at least that's gotta change). Either way, Paddy is physically bigger than a lot of people assume.

Charles Green is listed at the same height of Paddy at 5'10"

Better focus on Gaethje, Paddy.

I don't know what Paddy's ceiling is but I think most people here are underrating him. With that said, both Ilia and elite WWs will be a whole different level. Paddy is big enough for 170, but he'll need very good grappling with all the other good WW grapplers and to take down strikers with one-punch KO power (Morales, Prates, Buckley).

One step at a time. Let's see if he can get Gaethje on the ground and totally dominate him like he did Chandler first. I do think Paddy wins that fight, BTW.

The problem we have in this era is that the skill level is so low and everyone is so bad that even absolute bums like Paddy go on win streaks and look good despite clearly being an average to mediocre fighter.

Islam almost died of embarassment when a journalist asked him about Paddy's skills lol. Everyone hypes atrocious fighters like Chandler so up that people are impressed when someone beats him, mma is literally dead...

I use to like the idea of fighter moving up for a second title. Back when they had a few defenses, or were at the least already champions. Now you got these guys already aiming at a second title before even winning an interim belt.
