It would be interesting for sure. I'm quite sure Topuria is the better P4P fighter, but size does matter and Paddy is a huge, durable LW like others have mentioned. It also seems like Paddy is improving quickly. He looked better and more dangerous against Chandler than he did vs. Gordon and the corpse of Ferguson. But he needs to fight someone under age 35 (unless it's maybe Oliveira) to give a better assessment.

agreed, paddy is looking better and better. and he is a good sized lightweight.

while topuria is looking great by beating max and volk, who been through wars with each other and everyone else

max might not be old like chandler but volk is. max has been through so many wars.

and the same can be said about illia fighting old people, he hasn't fought against the up and coming contenders

just the old gaurd. will be a great scrap. i will be pulling for paddy if and when it happens.

Topuria is beating Paddy but he would KO'd by Charles Oliveira. Ilia had to punch Max Holloway like 20 times hard in the face before he got his knockout blow achieved. So he doesn't really punch that hard. Oliveira with his heavy gorilla-sized-hand-punches will drop Ilia. Charles will then choke him to sleep.

Paddy is a very cerebral fighter, and the size difference wouldn't be inconsequential, but Paddy also gets hit & Top doesn't miss opportunities presented by sagging/lazy defense.

I could see it. On paper, Topuria should be the favorite but Paddy has improved a lot as a fighter IMO and is a quite big, tough LW.

Except Nate had been fighting competitively enough against good fighters at that point, while the best guy Paddy has been in there with is Jared Gordon, who is a mid level fighter at best.

It's pretty different.

Maybe, I'm not sure....but Topuria hasn't faced anyone nearly as big and strong as Paddy. You can't ignore size.
