News Ozzy has passed.

RIP. Glad he isn't suffering anymore.

I've been a heavy listener of his pre 1995 stuff since I was 12. He will be missed.

Having dealt with someone close who had Parkinsons, it would be believable he may have chosen euthanasia.
His place of death is listed as Birmingham so who knows

Reports coming out that he has passed. Liked him and Black Sabbath a lot in highschool and such. Still have a number of their CDs, just rarely get around to listening to them

RIP. True legend

Edit: changing original tweet I used from a news account to his official account

Wow true. Knowing his family through clips makes me saddened. He lived a crazy life

I saw this album cover in Best Buy in the late 90's and then flipped it over to see this sinister looking dude on the back.

I asked my mom who this was and she said you know what he's most famous for? He bit the head off a bit on stage.

I had to buy the album

That greatest hits album stayed in my cd player that entire summer. So many of my core memories of being 11-13 are to a soundtrack of this. I used to listen to that middle section with Randy over and over again. He made me want to play guitar and why I started. It didn't take me long to get into Sabbath and the initial solo albums after that. I always loved Van Halen, Aerosmith, Guns n Roses but Ozzy was essential into getting me into metal. That album purchase lead to Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Slayer and shaped my interests in music going forward.

This is the story for so many metal heads. Ozzy was the introduction. Thanks for the ride and shaping my tastes. RIP Madman

My fav Sab song

Love how Ozzy sounds.

Absolute legend. Really unusual how it all played out but in a good way. He was an early pioneer, but his music doesn't sound dated. Also evolved as he went solo which most 70s band did not. Was extremely popular but didn't really have any legitimate enemies.

His TV show was great. There were people that legitimately thought he was Satanic and evil then they watch his show and it's the complete opposite of what they thought it was going to be. Him just walking around being like "I love you guys", "what's for dessert", him raging because the TV remote looks like a space control box.

In the early 80's he went on a pretty hardcore drug and alcohol binge where he proceeded to black out and ended up shooting and killing 17 of his cats. He also said during the pandemic on his social media that he shoots and kills birds and cats that stray on his property. Nobody knows if he was joking with what he said

I shouldn't say this but, he didn't die suddenly, he went to Switzerland to be euthanized and die with dignity surrounded by his loved ones. His suffering is over, it's time for the Prince of Darkness to jam with Randy again.

Without Ozzy and his part in creating heavy metal, I wouldn't have my career, my friends, my bands. I don't even know If I would have a purpose in life if it weren't for Ozzy. Thank you for everything.
Do you know for certain because all the media is saying he died at home. Sharon and him did talk about assisted suicide on one of the recent podcast they do with Jack and Kelly. I knew Ozzy was very bad off and I am glad he was able to play that last show. He said recently about his mortality "I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say, ‘Hi guys, thanks so much for my life. That’s what I’m working towards, and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I’ll die a happy man.” That ATV accident really ruined him physically and couple that with the parkinsons diagnosis and it getting worse Ozzy physically was shot

His iindepth interview with Graham Bensinger is fascinating and knowing that Ozzy is dead him going "I CAN'T FUCKING WALK, I CAN'T FUNCTION, I FEEL LIKE A 99 YEAR OL D GUY"

I have a framed photo of Ozzy/Lemmy together flipping off the camera hanging in my living room. I keep looking at it tonight while listening to Sabbath/his solo work, and am still saddened by the news.

My earliest memory was his costume being banned on Halloween. Kids were biting off the heads of toy bats. Didn’t go over well in catholic schools.

I can’t say I was ever a huge fan. I actually left Ozzfest 2000 after Pantera played and when Ozzy got on stage because I’m just not that into it.

But I also recognize he was the frontman for Black Sabbath, sho pioneered metal, which I love.
I do like some Sabbath, and even some of his 80s stuff with Randy Rhodes. But not a lot.
