I'm quickly learning to hate them.
Well, not them exactly, just the people who bring their young children to them...
...then look at me weird...
...then say "I don't know" and "it's for the bigger people" when their kids ask how to use them, instead of showing them...
...then getting pissy with me when I say between sets, with nothing but good intentions "sir down and lift it up". They say "it's too much for someone who is FIVE", and I reassure them by saying "it's light, just be careful of the squat apparatus, as the locking mechanism with the bar isn't properly explained and they came here caught oddguard or stuck under it", to which I get a surly, defensive..
"Thanks"...
Also got shitty thanks when a man came along with his kid and his kid wanted to use the monkey bars, whilst I was using the pull up bar on the side. Politely told him that "I'm off soon. Just doing five and that's it".
I'm 6ft3, 260lbs of overweightness and 36. I recently changed jobs from a heavy lifting one to one with more mobility, and because I feel stiff and weak in the legs and back, I want to disuse heavy lifting and focus on mobility and bodyweight.
I'm able to keep it going more than when I was at the gym and I'm able to focus more on running and bodyweight exercises. I also like being outside more, but shit, I'm wondering if the £25 a month may be more worthwhile after all...
