Ortiz, Shamrock, Liddell, Silva, makes me sad to see once greats tarnish their legacies.

Watching these once great fighters either not willing or not knowing when to throw in the towel and ending stellar careers with massive losing streaks. Silva now 40 years old and 0-4-1 in his last 5. I love that GSP knew when to hang it up and left a champion with legacy intact. No one wins against father time, its painful to watch these guys decline and not hang it up.

tell us more.

Ortiz has been kicking asses lately. + win over Bader

Ortiz > Silva

DC ducked Bader, so Ortiz > DC

But this is what they love to do. So what they're not at the top of the mountain anymore. They're living the dream.

Should a concert pianist retire if they can no longer pull off the pieces they did when they were young?

No one is ever going to give a damn about MMA enough for these so called legacies to matter. UFC set the precedent. It's not about honor, or integrity, or legacy. It's about MONEY, and getting as much as you can. Long as they can bang without causing too much irreversible damage, I say get paid, no matter how many losses.

Silva's last two losses are to the current MW champ, and the current LHW champ, giving up a ton of weight and with no camp. And he still had his moments in both of those fights.

The fact that he's still fighting at such a high level is commendable imo. I don't see it as tarnishing anything.

Silva ruined his legacy with the roid thing. If it wasn't for that, his losses could be negates due to the fact that he's in his 40s fighting champs.
