Orange man -climate crisis

Between orange man taking us out of Paris climate agreement and rolling back government regulations he’s trying to kill my kids, we need the new green deal voted on and passed or we are all dead in 12 years.

United States Led Entire World In Reducing CO2 Emissions In 2019

The United States led the entire world in reducing CO2 emissions last year while also experiencing solid economic growth, according to a newly released report.

“The United States saw the largest decline in energy-related CO2 emissions in 2019 on a country basis – a fall of 140 Mt, or 2.9%, to 4.8 Gt,” The International Energy Agency (IEA) reportedon Tuesday. “US emissions are now down almost 1 Gt from their peak in the year 2000, the largest absolute decline by any country over that period

“A 15% reduction in the use of coal for power generation underpinned the decline in overall US emissions in 2019,” the IEA continued. “Coal-fired power plants faced even stronger competition from natural gas-fired generation, with benchmark gas prices an average of 45% lower than 2018 levels. As a result, gas increased its share in electricity generation to a record high of 37%. Overall electricity demand declined because demand for air-conditioning and heating was lower as a result of milder summer and winter weather.

The IEA noted that 80% of the increase in CO2 emissions came from Asia and that China and India both contributed significantly to the increase.

“In China, emissions rose but were tempered by slower economic growth and higher output from low-carbon sources of electricity,” the IEA reported. “Renewables continued to expand in China, and 2019 was also the first full year of operation for seven large-scale nuclear reactors in the country.”

“Emissions growth in India was moderate in 2019, with CO2 emissions from the power sector declining slightly as electricity demand was broadly stable and strong renewables growth prompted coal-fired electricity generation to fall for the first time since 1973,” the IEA concluded. “Continued growth in fossil-fuel demand in other sectors of the Indian economy, notably transport, offset the decline in the power sector. Emissions grew strongly in Southeast Asia, lifted by robust coal demand.”

this can only be because Obama’s policies just like our economy doing well.

Dems: Orange man deficit bad
Also Dems: 90 Trillion “Green New Deal”

Keep in mind, this drop is being attributed to coal fired plants taking a bath...and Trump is the biggest proponent of opening up more coal fired plants.

Sounds like this is happening IN SPITE of him, not because of him.

You know, Lake Erie actually caught on fire once from all the crap floating around in it. I wish I could've seen that.

The Paris climate agreement is a shame. The wasting of paper its took to create it did more harm to the environment than the "pledges" in it ever will help. It is meaningless as far as climate goes & anyone who has taken the time to actually look into what it actually is & includes knows this.
But it's one heck of a tool for governments to justify "environmental" taxation.

The only thing Donny, hates more than a balanced budget, is the environment.

Nailed it.

OP source says its because we are moving AWAY from coal but thanks to trump for it, who has done his darnedest to try and suck coal off.

Similar to the increase in median wages for the poor, albeit very small, that Trump is touting. That's largely because of states mandating higher minimum wages, something Trump and the GOP has been fighting tool and nail against. Trump is also claiming that he will always "protect pre-existing conditions" in healthcare, while trying to pass legislation in the Senate removing the protections for pre-existing conditions. The list goes on, lot's of stuff to call Trump out on directly.

I haven't looked into it but saw reports that the new budget slashes Medicare after Trump said otherwise.

It's true.

Another thing Trump lied about was reversing the deficit. Guess the 2 trillion dollars in tax cuts, 80% of that going to the richest 1%, didn't all come trickling down. Who knew? In fact, the 400 wealthiest families in the US now pay a LOWER effective tax rate than the bottom 50%.....

"According to The Washington Post, the pair found those families paid an effective average tax rate of 23 percent that year, below the 24.2 percent paid by the bottom half of American households. Back in the 1960s, the richest were paying close to 60 percent and the bottom half just over 20 percent."

Dupont knowingly killed people and then just had to pay a fine, but derp, India.
My thing is since our bought Supreme Court said corporations are people how come nobody who made the call, that sure we are killing people but lets keep dumping in the rivers, nobody went to jail for killing people. If I killed thousands of people, I would get the Death Penalty. If a CEO does it, his company pays a fine and its all good.
