Open Borders Day

Look up libertarian in a dictionary or economic text.

"A person who believes in the doctrine of free will"

Those who do not support open borders are not libertarians because they support government oppression of free will.

In America, every day is open border day!

Well that just stinks of the one world government agenda.

Don

I think most libertarians who are currently opposed to illegal immigration are opposed to it because of the existence of the welfare state.

Which is a valid concern IMO.

Yup. You know those hardcore libertarians and their well-known association with the NWO cabal.

You're on the right track, just need to dig a little deeper to find the answer . . . IF YOU DARE

Of course those who support the existence of a government are not libertarians because they support government oppression of free will.

- some large percentage of libertarians

Open borders does not make sense for any reasonable ideology. It assumes there would not be conflict with people of different ideologies when they mix, and this is impossible. Closed borders makes it so people who do not want freedom for themselves or the people they control can be excluded from a free society. Having 'open' borders will only lead to closed border no matter what, as there would be constant fighting, unless everyone thought the same.

Eh, I don't think immigration is really a libertarian thing. Libertarian is all constitutional protection for US citizens. If anything, it would be libertarian to hunt and kill all illegal immigrants.

So the reason a free society needs closed borders is so it can exclude anyone who thinks different?

Doesn't sound so "free" to me.

That's just because "libertarian" has been co-opted by Paulites and tea partiers, who are usually not libertarians at all, but feel it gives them more cred to say they are than admit they are just conservatives with a dose of isolationism.

Immigration is a very big issue for libertarians. It is one of the ultimate instances where government infringes on someone's liberty.
