"one more sleep"

It is just Anik because robots are programmed to cool off in between tasks and "one more sleep" is how Anik has been installed to convey his programming.

It’s a Military phrase. We used it all time in Air Force.

Yeah, or just "one more day until christmas", something along those lines. I've never heard "one more sleep", but I honestly am curious if it's an actual saying, or if it's just Anik being Anik.
anik has two hundred fifty quotes with in which to work

I think it's an Anikism, and I like it. It captures my yearning for mma.

Song from muppet Christmas Carol

After all there's only one more sleep til Christmas

It's an actual saying. And anybody from the US or Canada that says they've never used it is probably lying or about 13 years old.

I've heard it quite a bit? It's a pretty common saying I thought. Reading all these people saying they've never heard it makes me think I'm losing my mind.

Definitely thread worthy

In ten days, when we have a month without no UFC, there will be a lot more threads like this one. Learn to appreciate them! And honestly, this question has been nagging me for a while now, so I had to pose it to the sherbros.

I've heard it a lot. Surprised so many people haven't...

It's a pretty common thing kids or parents say in a frivolous way.. ."3 more sleeps until Santa comes" ...... "2 more sleeps until spring break"...

But it's not an expression people use in serious conversation. Someone using that expression is being kiddish in a joking manner, using it as a way of expressing excitement over something...

I'm just curious, do any English speakers from any English speaking region of the world actually use this phrase, or is it just John Anik? I've never heard someone phrase the notion of "one more night" this way, but maybe I just don't get out enough.

Anik says it all the time (time stamped)

He's referring to a Christmas song

I had an ex girlfriend years ago that did

was the only person I ever head say it.

When I was working. Offshore and would talk her she Would say it like.

“Just three more sleeps as I get to see you!” Etc

Anik is known as a bit of a global trendsetter.

sleep tight TS <BC1>

In french we use it, but its mainly used when talking to children lol

“One more sleep” sounds like getting put to sleep by another person, and growing up on pro-wrestling the first image in my mind is the sleeper hold.

I can only recall it be used in my family on christmas eve or the week before. Like only five more sleeps until Santa comes, for example. Any other time its used is just whack. Imo
