In the military, we would use the term “wake-ups” when counting down the days to the end of a deployment.

Ie; “two more BDU wake-ups and I’m fuckin outta here.” BDUs were the uniform back then, so this meant two more work days till you were home free.

In Canada we use that saying all the time, always referring to something big coming up in the future. Anik isn't Canadian, though. Truth be told, I'm not entirely sure WHAT Anik is. Furthermore, I don't think Jon Anik knows what Jon Anik is.
