Old Movies You Actually Like

Are people not aware that this is the original?

The Maltese falcon and Grand hotel are both still good. Non stop New York is a future set film from the mid 30s and that's still good to be honest. I'm a Richard burton fan so the original My cousin Rachel is a good film to me. Rebel without a cause holds up as a 50s time capsule. The original planet of the apes and King Kong are also still good.

I'm sure theyve been mentioned but Cool Hand Luke and North by Northwest were great

Sticking to pre 1970 here a few of my favorites.

Sad that today's market for films is so high demand that so much garbage gets made imo

My Fair Lady
The Last Man On Earth
Dawn of the Dead

Seven Samurai is my all-time favorite movie. Kurosawa makes gold.

Wouldn't "new movies you actually like" make for a more exclusive list?

forbidden planet
invasion of the body snatchers(1956)
them
the war of the worlds(1953)
the thing from another planet
of course you have to like sci fi movies to appreciate these.
Holy fuck I love forbidden planet and Invasion fucked my shit up as a kid.

Tales of the body snatchers....
I've seen 3 versions of that film and liked em all

There's actually 4

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
Body Snatchers (1993)
The Invasion (2007)

First two are great

Fourth was forgettable

Didn't see the third

It's from 71 but it's Jeff Bridges first major role and he got an oscar nomination for best supporting actor...and Cybill Shepard shows her titties.

Found those on youtube yesterday, they're blocked in some combination of US / Spain / Germany but if you have VPN you can watch them. Youtube has ton of these old movies available if you go on searching.

Plenty of great black and white movies.

To Kill a Mockingbird

Night of the Living Dead

Yep, Grease came out in 1978 and I like it very much. I'm not crazy about musicals but I really like Grease and West Side Story.

My favorite movie of all time is Casablanca, released in 1942.

The Godfather
Deer Hunter
The Graduate
The Warriors
Apocalypse Now
Rocky

I would recommend all of these "old" movies.
Rocky as old hits me in the gut
