It's pretty mid. It gives off a good first impression, as the combat feels good(I think it's the best first person combat of these types of games. They really nailed that aspect) and the graphics can be really good at times, as the world has some great environments. Dialogue and choices are not so bad either. However, it runs out of tricks fairly early and you start to notice it's shortcomings, like repeating side mission types, and a general "meh" feeling to it all. Once you get to the second zone, you've basically seen all it has to offer, and then start to notice how dumb some things are, like it's absolutely retarded gear upgrade system, that will leave you scratching your head as to why your fancy new mace or wand isn't doing much of anything to make you feel like you're finding new gear. That aspect alone, is one of it's biggest downfalls. Is there no official Avowed thread? The game releases 2/17 on PlayStation. Not going to buy it at launch but maybe during a time when there’s not much else out I’ll pick up on discount. For those who played did you enjoy it?
Theres a yuge thread on it. It's the most gigachad alpha game you'll ever play.I'll look into it. Not familiar with it

Multiplat Thread 'Official Space Marine 2 Disc'
They just released the trailer for Space Marine 2 and our man Captain Titus is back in action.
He's now crossed the Rubicon as a Primaris Marine and has been demoted to a LT but still out kicking ass.
Trailer is absolutely badass.
First game was a decade ago but its still fun as hell to play.

Neither AMD nor Microsoft have confirmed a release window up to this point, but rumors have pointed toward a 2027 for the past several months. In August 2025, leaker Moore's Law is Dead suggested the next-gen APU, reportedly codenamed "Magnus," would leverage Zen 6 and Zen 6c CPU cores, along with an RDNA 5-powered GPU.
AMD CEO Lisa Su has said that the next Xbox should be launching next year
Moores Law is Dead started sharing some stuff on it back in July / August along with the AMD leaker Kepler_L2
From what I've seen via internet rumor...
The next Xbox will be able to play the entire catalog of every Xbox game across all generations of the console.

The Next Xbox Console Will Reportedly Play All Of Your Games, Even PlayStation Titles
Whispers about the next Xbox console are growing louder, and it sounds like it'll be more like a pre-built PC.www.dualshockers.com
Take this with a Gibraltar sized grain of salt.

Definitely, although they may have something similar to the Xbone, where if you put in your old disc it will recognize the license and give you access to the digital version. That's pretty much how BC has worked since 8th gen.Sounds neat but I’ll believe it when I see it. If anything it will likely be cloud streaming of those games, not the ability to just throw in a disc of any classic Xbox game.
They are in a very weird position. They had so many games in the PS top 10 selling games and yet their last quarterly report the Xbox division performed below expectations. I'm not sure what the answer for them is. I thought releasing games on all platforms would help but it doesn't seem to be helping much at all. The market is flooded with so many good games right now that it's just very hard to compete in that space.Definitely, although they may have something similar to the Xbone, where if you put in your old disc it will recognize the license and give you access to the digital version. That all said, it seems a little soon for a whole new console. I don't even know why they would bother, considering how badly they're getting their asses kicked in the market and how overpriced their current consoles are. I would focus on the cloud if I was them, and get into deals with television companies that will just stream the games from the TV, instead of wasting money developing an inferior PC that will get destroyed from every angle. I mean, unless they got some secret deal with Rockstar for exclusive rights to GTA VI, they're kind of fucked.
It's compensating. They are in a very weird position. They had so many games in the PS top 10 selling games and yet their last quarterly report the Xbox division performed below expectations. PS isn't really releasing much this gen compared to last gen and honestly it might have worked out better for them. Competing for peoples time with good games in a market that's flooded with good games is tough. Sitting back and just collecting 30% from someone else's work is much much easier and cheaper to do. COD sales poorly but PS makes up for that by collecting money from Battlefield and Arc Raiders. Being a platform holder in this environment right now is just the best possible position for these companies.
I don't think Microsoft had a choice to but to raise the price. Apparently the 30% profit margin being placed on them is not a rumor anymore and was confirmed by one of the developers at obsidian. Xbox also expects gamepass to rise next quarter so I'm not sure how much it's hurt them really. I think the main issue was Outer world 2 under performed (this was confirmed by the dev) and so did COD. I can imagine Ninja Gaiden did as well but we don't have any confirmation on that. It's compensating.
Overall gaming revenue for Microsoft was down 9% YoY when hardware sales were down 32%. Nobody needs an Xbox, anymore, so nobody should be surprised. Software has to make up the deficit. Most of their revenue was from software & subscriptions before, anyway, but that's down 5%. I have a suggestion. How about not doubling the fucking price of Game Pass?
Although they specifically highlighted first party games sucking compared to a strong 2024, not multiplat or Game Pass woes. Besides, Sony was down 4% in the quarter, too. These are hardly devastating figures. Just a weaker quarter this year. Nintendo probably would have lagged too if it wasn't for the launch of the Switch 2.
Of course they had a choice. Don't be braindead.I don't think Microsoft had a choice to but to raise the price. Why are you talking about operating income? That's irrelevant. If you mention a decline in Xbox revenue, then observing a decline in Sony revenue at the same time is the only context that matters. Both declined. Just a weak quarter for gaming revenue.COD is a massive game and in 2020 is was reported that it cost 700 million to make world at war. I can only imagine it cost close to a billion now to make each game. With GTA 6 dropping this year I'm not sure it will do any better but maybe people just looking for an FPS game will be enough to get it back on track.
As far as Sony they did drop 4% but their operating income jumped 19% which is the more important number as it shows the overall health of a division. This was one of the key metrics the CEO wanted to improve when he took over. Sony was in the single digits when he took over. Xbox unfortunately will never give us these sort of numbers as I'd love to see what their opeating income looks like.
Of course they had a choice. Don't be braindead.

It's not being brain dead which is why I said "I don't think" because I legitimately don't know if they had any other choice. I don't run the company or know what's going on there and what other options they had.
