Xbox Official Xbox thread

My gut is leaning towards Xbox at least making up a lot of ground in sales by putting out a superior system with better value. I think the PS5 will still be good enough to maintain the majority of their audience, but as one them, I think im making the switch to Xbox.

Oh there is no doubt about MS doing a lot better this time around. I mean they're sold out in Japan. I don't recall their systems ever selling well in Japan. At least for the near foreseeable future sales will be hot for both systems.

No, you’re just pathetic for even trying to hide it at this point. You’re clearly biased, you’re clearly a shill, you’ve always been a dickhead.

He’s a thick smart cunt, it’s cute.

Xbox IMO has every single advantage over the PS5 except for the most important one and that's games. I just haven't seen anything from MS that's better than HZD, Spiderman, God of war, and frankly all the third party jap dev games they always get.

So while Xbox has an advantage everywhere else I just don't really give a shit about any of that stuff I just want good games. BC is great but honestly I don't play many old games I already beat that much. There are so many new games and games that I just haven't even got to yet on PS4 that I need to play.
I don't know, that's always been the most subjective column, but I'm not sure we can even grant the PS5 a firm advantage in this category.
Why should I buy an Xbox over a Playstation?

And that's without the Zenimax acquisition. Phil Spencer just hinted as strongly as possible without explicitly confirming it that all the Zenimax studios will be PC/Xbox exclusive:
Xbox Series X boss just confirmed bad news for PS5 owners
While reiterating his early position that games would come to other consoles on a “case-by-case basis,” Spencer told Yahoo Finance that gamers “should feel this is a huge investment in the experiences they are gonna have in the Xbox ecosystem.” But it was his final line that should alarm Sony fans: “we want the Xbox ecosystem to absolutely be the best place to play, and we think game availability is absolutely part of that.”
They're not the only major studio Microsoft just bought in the last year or two who didn't have time to make an impact in the previous gen's library, and were probably looking forward to the XSX as soon as they were purchased:

Simultaneously more and more PC games will make their way to Game Pass that aren't available on Sony, Nintendo, or other platforms.

Microsoft's backwards compatibility is vastly superior. This has been re-established over the previous few pages. Everyone insists it isn't important, but I think the reaction of the Sony fanboys indicates otherwise.

Finally, we've already seen that the PS5 is more likely to run games at 4K@30fps than 4K@60fps. This could result in the XSX running some multiplatform games with a significantly superior advantage. It will depend on how close to an adequate minimum a game falls, and whether the develop wishes to invest the time on tweaks to maintain parity between platforms.

Posts lists of announced exclusives, leaves off a sequel to one of the greatest games of last generation in God of War: Ragnarok.

Says the PS5 will be significantly behind in multiplat games while ignoring that the new AC is running at 4K 60FPS on both platforms. (B-b-but they didn’t announce it until a week later!)

Just shut up already lol. You can’t present anything without distorting facts. Your posts are all but worthless at this point.

Ayyyy Elder Scrolls fitting to be an exclusive

Gematsu was the primary source for my lists above (as I linked). It doesn't list God of War: Ragnarok:

I can edit that in. Dry your panties.

If you're going to add an exclusive that's really far away like God of War, it's only fair Elder Scrolls and Starfield gets added to the Xbox list since they've been announced too and now they're under Microsoft. G.O.W could be a few years away.

It’s literally been announced for 2021. There hasn’t been any announcement of Bethesda exclusivity or a hint of release date for either title.

Game library is always going to be subjective but IMO there is no contest. The zenimax purchase was huge but overall all those games have always just been good games to me. None of them have ever been something I would even consider giving up the PS library for. When it comes to JRPGs which is a genre I've loved since a kid Xbox isn't even a competitor. They are still missing the Legend of heroes series and Atleier series. Persona series as well. They did get Yakuza finally which was big. They still don't have Nioh which I don't even understand how they let that happen.

MS has been doing an excellent job at communicating everything about what they are doing this gen and it's been fantastic. Now they make the second biggest purchase in gaming history and suddenly they are being vague about what's going to happen with exclusive rights to some of the biggest game series in gaming history? They are doing this one month before the Xbox series X launches and competes with the PS5. Why would they do this? Them being vague about all of this and not outright saying it tells me everything I need to know. The only thing I can think is maybe they are trying to finalize everything before they can make it official but it's been very weird how they just wont outright say it. The fact that Minecraft is still being released on PS is also very telling. MS has already shown that they are ok with bringing massive games to other consoles.

4k 30\60 I don't care to much about I've been playing between both FPSs most of my life I'm ok with either. FF7R was 30 FPS and it's the best game I've played this year. If Cyberpunk doesn't blow my mind it's easily GOTY for me.

BC is also a feature that I do want but I honestly just don't use it much. I definitely wouldn't go beyond PS4 for older games. Anything older than that just looks like garbage. Even for Mass Effect series I have to get on my PC and use the mods otherwise it just looks like garbage. I heard their is a remaster coming though so lets hope that turns out to be true and that it's well done and not just some cash grab shit by EA.

Will see what happens. We got a whole gen ahead of us and while game announcements and all of that are nice we wont really know how things look until the games are actually released and we can play them.

I don't care about dates. I always intend to be exhaustive.

It's a good thing you pointed out Ragnarok was missing. I was too lazily trusting they had all the last few week's announcements covered, but they don't update that aggressively. Microsoft has been busy the past few weeks.
  • CrossFireX (Remedy Entertainment)
  • Gears Tactics (The Coalition)
  • Forza Horizon 4 (Playground Games)
  • Project Mara (Ninja Studios)
  • Sea of Thieves (Rare)

All added to the Xbox list.

That's what "Console" and "Platform" exclusives mean, derp.

Notice games like Heavenly Bodies on the PS5's much shorter list?

So go ahead and post the PS4 library in that case.

I will as soon as those games are confirmed. That's why they don't appear on the Gematsu list.

Are you unable to figure anything out by yourself?

There’s an entire list that’s coming to PS+ Collection.

This isn’t your best day.

Notice some Console/Platform Game Pass games that are only available on that service don't appear, either. There's a reason for this. Most games on PSNow can't even be downloaded to the console. They must be cloud-streamed.
