with those “amazing” graphics Halo Infinite can probably be played on the Series S at 4K/60FPS..

Also, Ubisoft didn't confirm 4K@60fps for the PS5 until nearly a full two weeks after confirming it for the XSX. That means it took them that long to figure out they could hit 4K@60fps on the PS5 with easy enough graphical downgrades it wouldn't cause issues.

Oh, but The Medium will only run at 4K@30fps on Xbox!!! I found one game! I found one game!

That would be quite bad if Horizon: Forbidden West, which is also releasing on PS4, is not able to achieve 60fps on the PS5.

I have and most have generally favored Forza by a narrow margin but still mention some of the things I did positively about GT. But clearly I came to the wrong place to solicit an actual opinion other than uh yeah it's shit.

Most posters on here aren't into racers and I don't have the time or the inclination to explain things to you. You are an adult and are on a message board (which means you have access to a search engine) so why should I explain it for you?

Also, I am no expert on Gran Turismo. Last one I played was GT4 and that was cause I didn't buy a PS3 or PS4. GT4 was the shit though not gonna lie.

Who asked you explain anything? I asked for opinions. Its a discussion board. Man I swear there's only room for arguing and flaming around here. Bunch of fucking children sometimes. GT has been shit since 5 but you haven't played one since 4. Sherdog at its finest.

It has a performance mode for 1440p 60 FPS. Like a lot of the games did this gen. It also has 4K 30fps. The guy said a lot of games were struggling to hit 4K then came back and said it was only resident evil. This game can also be run at 4K. He also said lots of games would be using fake 4K.

it’s obvious BS and as Mick has shown plenty of games run at 4K. Sure the FPS won’t be 60 that wasn’t my point. If the guy said lots of games would be 4K 30 FPS that’s fine but he is clearly trying to make it sound worse then that.

The Xbox had better graphical hardware in the last gen too. The Xbone had near 50 % better tflops than the pro.

Badly outsold though.

No, he isn't. The point of what he conveyed is that the PS5 can't manage to maintain 4K at the standard people expect. "Fake 4K" doesn't necessarily look worse than 4K@30fps, but it isn't 4K@60fps. If you tested gamers in a blind test, I bet that 900p@60fps with dynamic upscaling would get more votes than 1440p@30fps static. But it wouldn't match 1440p@60fps.

This all stemmed from the fact that some PS fanboys in here wanted to sneer at the XSS because they can't stand that Microsoft packaged the cheaper console. They should be more careful with that. Turns out the mirror is a cruel teacher.
 
I'm thinking I'm gonna get the series X. The performance + game pass has swayed me. I have been with Sony since the beginning and I know they have a strong first party line up but the truth is I just don't really care all that much about those games. It's really third party games (and Bethesda) that im mostly interested in. Ill have to take a glass shelf out of my entertainment center to stand that bad boy up but thats OK.

I don’t think anyone's denying that the XSX could play 4K at a higher frame rate more consistently than the PS5 or more games and if they are then they’re wrong.

The argument is rather that does it matter in the real world. Games like SpiderMan and even TLOU Remastered (2014) are graphically better (or compare favourably) and a better gameplay experience than anything Xbone or even the XSX has shown till now (don’t take me literally here).

Microsoft has made a big acquisition now. Bravo but let’s wait till something substantial comes out of this before showering them with kudos.
